Hi. I attended the SAIL, 2012 paper on 15 July. Here I am giving a complete idea about the SAIL question patterns for CHEMICAL ENGINEERING students.

It has 2 sections: 1-technical-100 questions.

2-non-technical-100 questions-it has 4 sections.

A. English (2 passages, article, preposition, synonyms & antonyms).
B. Aptitude (profit & loss, simple & compound interest, average, time & work, ratio; proportions, share, dividend problems).
C. Reasoning.
D. General knowledge and current affairs.

In the technical sections, almost 30 questions will be from POLYMER TECHNOLOGY every year.

Questions from mass transfer, heat transfer, mechanical operation, fluid mechanics, chemical reaction engineering, and thermodynamics are important.

Only you will find 5 to 6 problematic questions while others are factual I mean data-oriented i.e. more you remember more you gain.

The time for the test is 150 minutes.

The important thing is you have to qualify in the technical section as well as IN EACH SUBSECTION OF NON-TECHNICAL SECTION TOO.
