Robert Bosch came to our campus for 2 days to recruit engineers for different job profiles. There were three rounds and each round being elimination round. First day, we had presentation of the company along with the first round, second day we had the other two rounds, that is, the Technical and the HR interview. Bosch allowed around 330 candidates from selected departments to sit.
Online Test: We had an adaptive online test with multiple choice questions (meaning that for each correct answer, you will get a tougher next question but your percentile will go higher and for each wrong answer you will face a simpler next question but will result to a lower percentile) conducted by amcat team and which consisted of four sections. Quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, verbal, and technical. Technical section consisted of simple questions from subjects like analog microelectronics, digital electronics, analog integrated circuits, 8051 microcontrollers, embedded c, etc. Around 130 candidates cleared this round and moved to the next one.
Technical interview: This round was a one-to-one interview with employees of Bosch. My interviewer asked questions on my projects and internship. Proceeding with which the interviewer asked questions on diodes, BJT, Op-Amp, 555 timer, Analog Communication, Digital Signal Processing, 8051 micro-controller and C programming. She asked me my favorite subjects but started asking questions on other subjects first and then came back to my favorites. Around 50 students made it to the final round.
A few questions were like this:
1. Draw the circuit of BJT as a switch and explain.
2. Questions on internship and projects.
3. Write a C program to concatenate two strings without using concat but with for loop.
4. Draw circuit of Schmitt Trigger and explain.
5. What did you understand by the subject- Digital Signal Processing.
6. Different types of modulation techniques.
7. Differences between AM and FM and their applications.
HR interview: This round was more like a conversation than an interview. The interviewer asked me to introduce myself, asked what I feel about technology and employment since last 10 years, my projects in brief, my strengths and weaknesses, view on higher studies, if I am a team player and if I am a leader, etc.
Bosch finally recruited 44 candidates.
Tips:
1. Online Test- The questions asked are basic and simple. If you have studied the subjects, you will be able to answer.
2. Technical Interview- Don't try to bluff anything, they can easily make out that. Be straight forward with their questions, don't try to show too much knowledge. Don't answer all the questions asked as they might reject you thinking you as over-qualified. Be honest. Have positive attitude with problems given to you. Be confident.
