Hello Friends,
There was a Pool Campus drive for GAT (Graduate Apprentice Trainee) in are and Department of Rishabh Instruments Pvt. Ltd. It is one of the Core Companies of ECE branch, Estab. In 1985, an MNC, Product based company of manufacturing testing and measuring instruments. HR had the pre-placement talk with all students from various colleges of Pune, about 500 ECE students (B.E + M.E) from 12 different colleges had participated for placement, I was one of them.
I will suggest you to go through previous had placements for any company, it will be similar to it, unfortunately, I didn't got any placement flow for this company, as they has changes for all future placements. Lets come back to talk of HR of Rishabh Inst., he was very strict and confident, he described job profile, package (3.6 lacks) and their achievement. I was impressed by it, he described the placement flow,
A. Technical Aptitude Test (50 Questions, 50 Marks, 1 hour).
B. Group Discussion.
C. Personal Interview.
A. The aptitude consisted of Q based on Integrated Circuits, Op amp, Digital Circuits, Electromagnetics, analog communication, microcontrollers, and from other ECE subjects, all Questions were technical, time was more than sufficient to solve paper, as it was paper pen test.
B. They short-listed 38 students for GD, they made 3 groups for Discussion, they selected same topic i.e.technical one for all groups i.e. "Future technology in Mobile Phones". You must be thinking it an easy to get points on it, but they said the condition that to place the idea with how to implement it practically and to conclude individually. 12 students in one group, only 8 minutes were given for GD.
I will suggest you some tips:
1. To get paper and pen while GD.
2. Note IMP points.
3. Try to elaborate main points in short sentence in the beginning itself.
4. Give others chance to speak.
5. Don't look at HR while GD.
6. Keep smiling.
7. Not to be Aggressive on others opinion.
8. Try to motivate other GD members who didn't receive a chance to speak their points (these is very good points while GD).
C. For PI they shortlisted 19 Students, some after some time PI begined, I was Expecting the Introduction and other Personal Stuffs but he completely judged me from my core knowledge. He only asked my name, I saw that my resume was in his hand, there were two Interviewers,
Interviewer 1: So Neeraj, which is your Favourite Subject?
Me: Sir, my favourite subjects are Embedded Systems & Analog Communication.
Interviewer 1: Tell me about Watch Dog Timer.(I replied Confidently with my answer).
Interviewer 2: (he passed a paper sheet with a circuit diagram of typical voltage divider circuit) Tell me the Voltage across Resister.
(I replied with the solution).
Interviewer 2: Are you sure?
Me: Yes sir I am absolutely Sure for my Solution.
Interviewer 1: Why ARM controller required 3. 3 Voltage supply but not 5 V?
Me: (Answered).
Interviewer 2: why is Crystal Freq of 8051 is 11. 0592 MHz but not exactly 12 MHz? Why odd value?
Me: (Answered with less confidence the Guessed one and said I am not sure about it).
Interviewer 1: Tell me what projects you had done.
Me: (Explained in detail).
Interviewer 2: Draw the complete power supply design implemented in your Final year project.
Me: (Draw and explained).
Interviewer 2: why do you need capacitors with 7805?
Me: (Justified with Reasons).
Interviewer 1: Explain Complete process for +ve half cycle.
Me: (Explained with diagram).
At last, he said you may go now.
After 2 days result declared, they selected only 5 guys out of whole process, I was one of them, and I also had a call from HR about my selection in R and D of Rishabh Instruments.
Tips:
Don't worry about future, and don't get depressed If you haven't yet placed, Even I had some failures in placements, have faith in your knowledge and be confident, know your weaknesses, and make your resume strong enough to impress HR. And you will definitely Succeed.
Thank You.
