PLACEMENT PAPER.
Hi all. Today we faced the Qualcomm written exam here at Guwahati.
Here is the pattern of Qualcomm.
There were three sections namely aptitude ability, coding/programming ability, and the optional (different for different streams and you have to choose one of them like ece, vlsi, cse etc.).
EACH SECTION HAS TO BE COMPLETED WITHIN THE ALLOTTED TIME AND YOU CAN GO BACK TO THE EARLIER SECTION (EVEN IF YOU DO NOT ATTEMPT ANYTHING SO GO WITH THE SOFTWARE ITSELF).
SECTION 1: APTITUDE ABILITY 20 QUESTIONS 2O MINS.
Many of the questions are based on Venn diagrams. So be prepared for this.
Do not expect any quantitative aptitude (we didn't get even a single question).
SECTION 2: PROGRAMMING ABILITY 15 QUESTIONS = 30 MINS.
I wasn't able to write this section because I directly jumped to third after first.
But from my friend's experience, I am writing about it.
Many of them are based on theoretical like the complexity of the algorithm or sorting method, algorithm sorting method, stacks, questions (not advanced but simple) etc.
Some simple code and predict output (tricky though).
SECTION 3: OPTIONAL (MINE WAS ECE) 15 QUESTIONS = 15 MINS.
THIS IS A REALLY TOUGH PART FOR ALL. BE CAUTIOUS ABOUT THIS SECTION.
MOST OF THE QUESTIONS ARE BASICS BUT EXTENSIVE (TAKE 2 MINS) SO BE PREPARE.
1) DSP: FOURIER TRANSFORM, z transform, inverse z transform, digital system system output for a given input sequence and system function. Difference equation solution (particular solution etc), and some advanced topics like LMS ALGORITHM, AND OTERS, DIGITAL FILTER RELATED QUESTIONS (SIMPLE THOUGH).
2) DIGITAL LOGIC.
3 TO 4 questions like min terms, k maps, flipflops (not tough, but relatively time-consuming) etc.
I would suggest being prepared with all the subjects that you would prepare for the gate etc.
All the best.
