My Name is Vinod Selvin Nadar and I got placed in Persistent Systems,
TEST 1:
The Test had 60 questions. Duration was 60 minutes. 45-50 questions on core technical subjects like C/C++ (Predict the output/ syntax), Distributed Systems, Operating Systems, Computer networks (focus on TCP/ISO layer), Software Engineering, etc. G. Virtual functions, process synchronization, protocols. Testing types (deep) Few questions were on quantitative aptitude & reasoning. Subjects like speed-time-distance, Time and work, profit & loss, and blood relations etc.,
TEST 2:
The Test had 1 program. The duration was 20 minutes, we had to type our program in the given text field. The program which I got was "Write a program to read text from one. Txt file and replace multiple occurrences of space to one space and save it to two. Txt file". I wrote it.
TEST 3:
The Test had 1 essay (paragraph writing). Duration was 10 minutes, we have to type our essay in the given text field. The topic is "How will you resolve traffic issues in India". I was waiting for the result, and finally my name came in the list. I was very happy.
INTERVIEW:
There are two Technical Interviews, before the interview they collected all the student's resumes and they divided the students accordingly, the difference between first and second interviews is that the first interview will be taken by the project manager and second interview by Senior project manager. They directly called 7-8 students for Second Technical Interview, from that 3 students are from XIE: 1) Roland Lobo 2) Me and 3) Francis. They took a directly second interview, so we guys were very happy.
SECOND TECHNICAL INTERVIEW:
Good afternoon Vinod, and I replied good afternoon sir, the interviewer was very friendly.
1) Tell me about yourself.
2) Tell me about your mini projects.
These are,
I. Tell me about Digital signature.
II. Tell me about https and why Google uses https and why you have not used https and digital signature.
III. He asked which server you used for scripting, and I said Apache server.
IV. Http vs ftp.
V. How will you install ftp server and http server on a Linux machine?
VI. He asked me how would you see which process is holding resources.
A. I said proc command and then he said PS command.
VII. He asked me how will kill a process.
A. I said, "kill pid".
B. He asked me, is there was any attribute can be used, I replied "f for force kill and others I don't remember.
VIII. He asked if I had used the Linux system.
A. I said yes and he asked when I said during sem-v and sem-vii.
3) And asked questions about Android, php, and Javascript.
A. He asked me questions on Android, and he wanted to see my Android applications, I showed that app which is installed on my mobile,
B. I showed my developed android applications.
I. He played tic tac toe with me and he was trying to find bugs and he didn't found any bugs.
A. He asked me what are the difficulties you faced while designing this app, I said.
II) Noob browser.
1. He asked me why web browser Vinod.
I said, sir Google Chrome crashes in my mobile so I want an app which is stable and I designed on my own.
2. He searched test tube baby and he got all the results and he was very happy.
III. Cricket Calculator.
4) Asked me questions related to cryptography, and what is the difference between public and private key algorithms.
5) He asked why Google website has lock symbol in the URL and why your website doesn't have lock symbol, I said that he was not satisfied and he explained me, and the way he explained that answer was awesome.
6) Ok VINOD when I want to send 5000 letter email how I will send, I said that I have to change the databases varchar size, he said that was the easiest way and he asked is there any other way, I said we can store the message in text file in the letters size is more than 2000 and he was satisfied with my answer.
7) Which database you have used, I said my SQL.
8) He asked questions related to MY BE PROJECT, and my project was fully based on cloud storage, he asked me your project looks like Gmail and Google drive. I said yes, he asked what is the new features in your project, I explained.
9) He asked many questions related to Computer networks, like IP address, protocols, OSI layer, etc.
10) Finally he said Vinod I'm done with my side, you have any questions. I said NO.
I was waiting for the results. HR came, with a list of students' resumes who got selected for HR Round, My name and Francis's names came and he gave one form to me.
HR INTERVIEW:
He was very friendly. It was more formality. For persistent If you make it through the technical rounds, you are selected. Tell me about yourself, your hobbies, who is your favourite cricket player, Goal. What you know about Persistent systems.
That's all. Awesome Experience.
