Persistent Systems Interview Experience - Pune, July 17, 2015

Our college had a placement drive on the 16th and 17th of July. Which was of Persistent Systems.
Selection process:
1. Online Test.
2. Technical Interview 1.
3. Technical Interview 2.
4. HR round.
On 16th July we had a Online Test. Online Tests included as follows:
1. General Aptitude. (Just 5 or 6 questions).
2. Technical. (C, C++, network, Software Engineering etc).
3. Essay writing. (Plan a vacation).
4. Program (write a program to take input array of student names and then sort it using bubble sort tip: Double pointers).
The test had 60 questions for 60 minutes. The essay had 10 minutes. The program had 20 minutes. Some 60 students were selected from 70-75 students. I cracked test. The test was quite an average one. Not too difficult not too easy. Mainly technical must be strong as Technical questions are more in the test.
Aptitude: HCF, Time and work, Probability, Logical questions.
On the next i.e. On 17th July, we had all the rounds. There were Total 7 interviewers. They had been assigned different classes for the interview.
The interviews began at 10 am. I was waiting for my turn but finally my turn came at 2 pm. Was very tense about it and was getting quite impatient. Finally, I was called.
Technical Interview 1:
My interviewer was a male who was sitting with his laptop. He was quite calm. He first checked my resume he didn't even open my document file. He asked me to write 3 programs.
Printing pattern.

Wrote it with a mistake and ignored it. Compare string without in build function. Wrote it. Fibonacci series. Wrote it. Then he asked me about Java. About access specifiers. Protected member in deep. Asked me about OSI model. Gave me a table. And told me to write SQL queries.
GroupBy OrderBy.
Finally he was done with the interview. And asked me that I had any questions for him. I asked him some questions about Satyamev Jayate project. He was quite pleased that I asked questions. After that it was done and I came out. My interview lasted for 20 to 25 minutes. After some time I came to know I was selected for next round.
Technical Interview 2:
For technical interview 2 I was called. In this interview, he asked so deep about SQL and MongoDB. Firstly he started with structured and unstructured for 10 minutes we were talking about it. Then again he asked me to write SQL queries for given tables. I wrote it properly but some mistakes got popped up. Then he asked me a riddle on probability. About the defective pencils in a box. This interview got ended up very early. Like hardly 15 minutes. And I got selected for HR.
3. HR Round.
In this round, I had been give form to be filled. Which contained all the personal information to be filled with educational qualifications. The HR person asked me to introduce myself. And to talk for 5 minutes on a particular topic. I talked about guitar more than 5 minutes. That it done with HR.
Came home at 8 pm. On Monday i.e. 20th July we got our results. And 18 people got selected in which I was one of them. Very happy.
Conclusion:
Actually HR was just a formality. You are actually selected after technical interview 2. During interview, they only check how do you attempt your question. How much efforts do you put to get that answer? They are not interested in the answer but the effort you put in.
Stay confident whenever you answer. Check with resume because whatever you mention in your resume must be true and it will be asked in the interview so go through the resume.
