30th October 2015:

Hello guys, my name is Sakshi Nema. We had a drive of Persistent in our college campus Gyan Ganga College Jabalpur. Criteria was 60-60-60 % with no current backlog. Only CS and IT streams were allowed. On 30th of October, we had our written online test round.

First round consists of 3 sub rounds:
(1) 60 questions (53 technical+ 7 aptitude) in 60 minutes.
[Technical questions were from data structures, data communication, Analysis and design of algorithms etc., which were quite simple].
(2) 1 program on strings (any programming language).
(3) An essay on the topic " A thrilling event of your life".

In the evening we got the result approx. 50-60 students were selected from our college. They told us that we will get a break of 1 day and will have interviews on 1st Nov 2015.

On 1 st of Nov, we reached college and had a slide show (pre-placement talk) guys it is necessary to pay attention to each and every thing in this presentation as they can ask you questions from it during interviews.

After this they started making batches of 8-10 students and took us into a conference room, there was a big round table where we sat and got blank papers, then a sir from their team came and gave 1 program statement to each student. In my chance I got a "program to compare a user input with an array of numbers and output "got it if correct comparison made".

That sir came to each student one by one and checked their paper to test whether the programs were correct or not, they changed the program statement if the student is unable to make it.

Fortunately, I made my first program correct, then he gave me another paper to make another program which was "program to implement Fibonacci series using linked list". In this program I was quite confused using linked list for such implementation But still, I tried and made a partially correct program. I showed it to him he smiled and gave me another paper to make another program which was program to convert decimal into binary using stack.

This program was also 70% correct.
After this they collect all the papers from us and send us to the interview room 1 by 1. In my interview room there was a man who was watching the programs made by me in paper. Then she started taking my 1st technical interview after seeing my resume, questions were:

*What is inheritance? Explain with types.
*Difference between formal and actual arguments.
*What is Android and its versions (mentioned in my resume).
*Can you dance here (dancing as a hobby in your resume).
*Real time examples of types of inheritance apart from parents child relationships.
*Difference between generalization, association, specialization and their real-time examples.
*Within 5 minutes I got the result that I am in, for the 2nd technical round.

My second interviewer was a sir, he asked questions:
*Tell me about yourself.
*Family background.
*What are your Strong programming languages?

Gave me a paper and said to make a program for finding the factorial of a number, then he checked it and said now make another program which can find the factorial of positive as well as negative numbers.

Again gave me a paper and said to write all possible restrictions that need to be applied in any login system for security purposes like in Facebook login page. I wrote almost 6-7 such restrictions then he told me some more restrictions.

Then he asked is there was anything you wanna ask to me, then I said can I have feedback on my performance in this interview so that I can improve, then he told me some good points about my performance and said never stop studying more and more, this is the key to success. I said thank you and came out of the room.

Again within 5 minutes, I got the result that I am selected for the HR round. When I entered I found HR there, he told me to sit and started asking questions:

*Tell me about yourself in detail.
*Why Persistent?
*Why didn't you think about entrepreneurship?
*What do you like the most in ppt slides in the preplacement talk about Persistent?
*Which location in India will you choose if selected?
*Are you mobile (ready to change the location for the company)?

After all these questions he gave me a form to be filled which consists of all the important information about me and said congratulations, welcome to Persistent.

Overall, guys HR was very smooth nobody was eliminated in HR round in our college. Total of 20 students were selected from the 2 colleges in our campus, so guys at the time of making programs they didn't want 100% correct program from you but they want you to try fully and make until they stop you. And for the technical interviews the tip is to answer confidently with a smile on your face.

All the very best guys.
