So It all started with Persistent System campus drive in my college. Persistent is a company which does a close campus drive in some colleges, It comprises 4 stages written exam, technical interviews 1 and 2 and HR round.
First round had 60 questions of which 5 were of Aptitude and Logical reasoning, remaining were major CS/IT subjects like software engineering, data structure, computer networking, and operating systems.
Other 2 sections were of essay writing on Traffic signals in India and coding tests of making a particular library utility using linked list.
After 15 days result came out of it and out of 250 students 70 were selected for interviews among them 6 also qualified for advanced coding for higher package interviews. So I was one of them but couldn't qualify that coding test but eligible for normal interviews.
In my first technical interview, it started with a coding section, interviewer gave me 4 questions for implementation. One is of pattern, one is binary to decimal, find quotient without dividing numbers and HCF and LCM. Then he asked me questions of JAVA MVC architecture, garbage collection, strings, enum etc. Then some oops concepts like polymorphism, inheritance and data structure questions of implementing circular queue, using stack implement queue etc.
After 10 minutes they call me for 2nd interview. It was easy for me because in 1st interview I was not able to do 2 programs still I qualified for 2nd interview.
In 2nd interview first question was what are the subjects you studied in your engineering? I told him almost every subject. Then he asked me question of DFD (THEORY OF COMPUTATION) and implementation of questions. After that he asked me some classes and functions used in Java and SQL queries. After all these question I know I told him right answer and my confidence build up so he asked me some conceptual question of Computer networking, operation system, data structure and software engineering. After all that I explained my major project to him and implemented it then voluntary told him about my industrial training of cloud computing which impressed him the most. Then He asked me any questions so I asked him about in which cloud technology persistent works.
After these 2 rounds within 5 minutes, I was called for HR round. It was the easiest especially for me because the moment I entered to the room I got the offer letter and then my HR round started. General questions like about my family, future long term and short term goals and 1 tricky question are that why you are not selected in TCS? Out of 70 students, only 9 are selected after almost 12 hours interview marathon.
Tip: Always be confident, ask questions at last of the interview, and be polite.
