Odessa Technologies, Inc.
Hey guys, let me start with some intro to the company Odessa Technologies which is a US-based firm MNC. In September Odessa came for the placement drive.
The following is the brief of their selection criteria:
1. Aptitude Round.
2. Group Discussion.
3. Written Technical.
4. Technical Interview.
5. Personal (cum Technical) Interview.
So,
1. Aptitude Round.
The aptitude round consists only of quantitative aptitude with questions from mathematics and number systems.
Stats:40ques/30min.
Key: Try to get at least 18+ questions correct.
2. Group Discussion.
Huge elimination takes place in this round. Group of 7-9 students. Topics were general like:
* Advantages of Co-education.
* Microsoft Vs Google.
* Pros/ Cons of Social Networking etc.
Stats: 7mins/7-9students.
Key: Be loud, clear and confident. They look for attitude too, respect for fellows etc.
3. Written Technical:
In written technical we were asked to write programs to check the ability to think for logic and implement through any language (C, C++, Java).
Programs were like:
* Reverse of an integer without using string function.
* Number pyramid.
* Number of occurrences of a character in a word. Etc.
Stats: 3programs/30mins.
Key: Syntax of programming language, logic important. Attempt all programs.
4. Technical Interview:
Technical Interview begins with Tell me about yourself and the project you have done. Then the question on OOPs concept, Database, Web technologies etc begins. Puzzles are also asked with some reasoning questions. A stress interview is part of it. You would be asked to explain the logic you used in the program written in a written technical round.
Stats: approx. 30-45min/interview.
Key: Never give up, always give a try to all questions. Explain with examples and sample codes. Just give it a try to all questions.
5. Personal (cum Technical) Interview:
In this round, you would be asked questions from whole dimensions of Computer Science, Your project, Latest technology working, Mathematics, Attitude, teamwork, Web Technologies etc.
Stats: 30-45min/interview.
Key: Always look forward to being humble, avoid vague answers, dress to impress, be confident in speech, and always ask questions to interviewers when they invite you to ask anything. Make sure that you are thinking faster than the interviewer, if your solution for a question fails, present as many solutions as you can give one after the other. They would be analysing you on your complete attitude and skills. You are the driver of your interview, take them to an area which you are aware of. A resume is a guide for the interviewer, he will refer to your resume and frame questions and you as a driver need to mention only those things on your resume which you know and are confident about.
Happy Quotient: You will be getting a hard copy of your offer letter then and there if you are selected with the joining date mentioned in it. It's best part of the Odessa Technologies drive.
Selection Procedure is long but fruitful, Its a great experience. And I was lucky to get the Happy Quotient.
Best of Luck.
