Hi friends this is Krishna (B.Tech IT). I attended the NEWGEN campus drive on 6 Jan 2011 in JSS Noida.
The pattern of their recruitment was as follows:
1) Preplacement talk (about 30 minutes long).
2) Written tests include both aptitude and technical questions. (40 questions of quantitative aptitude in 40 mins and 40 technical questions in 40 mins).
The aptitude test includes questions from percentage, probability, average, syllogism, analogy etc. (very easy). Technical questions include C, C++, computer networks, DBMS and DS. (prepare questions on pointer, operators, printf scanf, and calloc malloc type.
From DS general question on the tree traversal graph some questions on push pop operation. Operating system -questions from disk scheduling and general questions like deadlock semaphore etc.
Numericals from CNN like baud rate, bit rate type and subnet submask type questions.
Dbms-questions from normalization. Prepare c questions very well because there were 15 questions from C, and C++ and 1 or 2 questions from Java also (basic questions). There were around 150 students who appeared for the written test only 33 qualified for the next round which was a psychometric test.
A psychometric test was written there are around 150 questions in 30 minutes. Very simple the purpose of this round was just to check personality. How do we take life and be honest while giving answers to questions in that round question like?
Q1) If someone criticized you what is your reaction?
A) You abuse him.
B) Go away from that place.
C) Listen to him carefully to what he says about you so that you can improve yourself.
Such types of questions were asked in that round. Also, they asked a question in which they gave 50 words out of which we have to choose 10 words which best describe your personality like hard worker, punctual, honest, confident, short-tempered. Only 15 cleared that round and I was one of among them. After that there was a technical interview.
Question from your project, Java, C, and what you mention in your CV. After this round, they asked two or three candidates for HR and I was one of them. I HR they just asked me about myself why job? About hobbies. Also some current affairs questions.
Unfortunately, I was out from that round and they selected only 1 student he was from MCA. I think this was not my day. But be hopeful and be confident because hope is the best thing of all the things.
