Interview Experience:
NetCracker came to my college through the College-Corporate program.
They started out with a pre-placement talk. They answered every possible question a student would have about this company. My suggestion to you is to PAY CLOSE attention to this seminar.
So we started out with 500 people for the written test. The written test consisted of:
1. English.
2. Logical.
3. Quantitative.
4. C/C++/Java/ A few things about SQL and DBMS.
5. Computer Basics.
6. Determine the output for the following code (Mind you, these were difficult).
This was a timed test with 35 questions and no negative marking. The paper mostly had logical and technical questions. Most of my classmates said this paper was very difficult.
So a few hours later, they shortlisted about 100 people for the next rounds.
So 50 of us were divided into 10 panels. Initially, we were given 3 topics to choose from as a team.
We had to speak about 1 topic for 30 mins. Once this was over, the NetCracker employees stepped outside the room for a minute, but little did we know they observed everything that the students discussed among themselves.
This was followed by another GD round, the same procedure as above.
A few hours later, they shortlisted about 60 of us for the technical interview.
Definitely, the hardest part.
There were 6 panels with each one having an hour and a technical person.
The people were very kind and not too intimidating. They asked us questions on various subjects like C/C++/dbms/networks/compilers/microprocessors etc.
My interviewer asked me which subject I was comfortable with and then questioned me on that particular subject.
(*NOTE: Don't lie, tell them you aren't aware of something or if you're not comfortable with a subject and do not try to fool them with evasive answers, they'll find out. ).
**When they present you with a scenario, it's not enough if you just speak about it, they ask you to actually write the code down as you are explaining it.
My written round lasted for more than an hour! But most people's was around 30-40 mins.
Then they posted a list of 20 students who qualified for the HR round.
Now the HR round was different for each one of us. Some people said she asked about puzzles, some said they asked normal things like What are your strengths and weaknesses. My HR interview seemed like a casual conversation.
The HR looked very intimidating, but she was very kind.
Tips: Remember, the HR has seen thousands of people and she can easily find out if you are lying about your achievements etc.
After long hours, we were informed that 6 of us were selected.
This was my first interview and it was a great learning experience.
