Hi, I attended Mentor Graphics for Application Engineer with a 6.25 GPA for B.E. The Job role is to be a bridge between R&D and customers. They hired from EC/TC/EEE because this demands to know the whole technicality to answer questions posed by customers and to delight them.

Written round had 5 sections with 45 questions and 60 minutes. This was quite easy. No sectional cutoff and no negative marking. Aptitude- 15 questions, digital- 10, C lang- 5, electrical- 5, descriptive- 5 where in first 4 sections was MCQ.

Aptitude:

Ans: 9.

Ans: 9.

Ans: Favourable outcome-2, overall outcome-2*2*2. So 1/4.

1 problem on ages, 1 on combination, 2 on mixture and alligation, 1 on trains and then 1 on simplification. Digital was based on basics of the transistor, setup of a flip-flop, logic design and MOSFET.

4. Can we change the direction of DC motor?

Descriptive had 5 questions of 4-5 marks for each.
1. Draw CMOS NAND.

One on FSM, clock generator, GD topic was Should government hand over corruption to CBI. I could not clearly write round thinking that it might be difficult. So I didn't prepare well. Let the same thing not happen in your case. Prepare well.
