Placement Papers - Keane

Hi Friends

Keane visited our campus on 31 Jan and 1 Feb. 1st day was supposed to be aptitude test and group discussion & 2nd day was technical interview and hr interview. Total 2007 students appeared from our campus out of which 364 were selected.

Written apti test was a bit difficult in our college as compared to what we read in previous ques. Papers. It had ques about banker\'s discount. Simple and compound interest (unexpected!).

English section was easy. Even logical was a bit tough...ques on series was strange & no one was able to solve it. Probable ques like chain rule, train problems were absent.....

The tip to clear apti is to stay confident and maintain Ur cool. i was blank to see 1st 4 ques of quant section & thought I will not be able to clear but able to do rest....best thing is there is no negative marking so u can always rely on flukes but my advise is to avoid them because they give a separate sheet for rough work and they attach it with answer sheet and resume and till hr interview that sheet is there. so anytime interviewer can ask u to perform the calculations and fluked in this case leaves bad impression. we were also given an essay to write whose topic ws "Huw college has helped in ur development" never be negative in such case and be short and precise..

About half of ppl cleared apti 

Next round was GD. there were 10 ppl in each group.. the person who moderated gd was cool and helping.. since we were all from biotech background our topic was related to biotech.... Other topics were "how Chinese software industry can effect India" and "love marriage vs. arranged marriage".. my group was a complete mess. they ppl made gd hall a fish market.. ppl who spoke the most but irrelevant were rejected... I spoke 2 times in gd and at last he asked everyone to conclude.. don\'t speak irrelevant and out of topic just 4 the sake of speaking... but do speak... they were selecting 6-7 ppl 4m each group.. at end of gd he collected the resume of selected ppl and stapled it with the respective answer sheets and rough sheet.. 

Next day was technical interview. The lady who took my interview was really nice and cooperative..first of all she tried to confuse me that belonging to biotech why I want IT?? BE ADAMANT ON UR DECISION. NEVER SOUND CONFUSED..its ur will power which they check..then there were questions ....

1 diff bw C and C++
2 CALL BY VALUE AND REFERENCE
3 Inheritance
4 pointers
5 keys in DBMS
6 DBMS queries and many of this sort I don\'t remember all...

Then suddenly she started asking ques on biotech....so prepare Ur specialization subject well too... TI lasted for 15-20 mins....be confident maintain eye contact. stick to ur words and decisions... don\'t sound negative.. TI is the main elimination round so never take it lightly.... 

Then HR interview.. its thought that once u reach hr round u are 99% placed but Keane ppl eliminated many ppl in hr also...so don\'t take it lightly.... hr ppl are slightly strict and are not so friendly as other ppl....but don\'t be scared...they wil ask ques like..
1- tell about ur self
2- Why drop in %age
3- How many yrs u want to work with us
4- Relocation
Etc 

Final results were announced at 2 in night...after long wait and I was selected.. this was the first company to visit our campus 4 our batch so excitement was double...
