First of all, let me tell you one thing that what are you preparing for right now is not that tough. Yes, obviously getting a job in a service based IT company is not among the toughest tasks. What I think, 2 months of continuous study is more than enough.
Now coming on Infosys, if you are about to sit for Infosys then focus on your aptitude. No need to bug much for technical part. I think its aptitude round is toughest in compare to other mass recruiters.
Infosys visited my college on 27th Sept. The day started with the PPT (Pre-placement talk). It lasted for more than an hour. Here the HR talked about the company, gave some data & figures of its company illustrating the rise of company from zero to zenith.
Then it was the time of online test which comprised of
> Quants- 10 ques - Level of questions is medium - 35 min. What I feel its wrong to say it quants section because there were 5 questions based on a complex arrangement, which is, of course, a part of reasoning but here it was in quants section.
The rest 5 were simple quants questions. You can easily solve them if you are even a bit serious.
> Reasoning- 15 ques - Level of questions is easy to medium- 25 min.
> Verbal- 35 ques - Level of questions is medium to difficult- 30 min
Result came through mail on same day and 125 were selected among 400 students. Next it was the interview. My chance came very early as they to call students alphabet wise.
Me: Good morning sir.
Interviewer: Good morning, sit down.
Interviewer: Introduce yourself.
Me: Told.
Interviewer: Which subjects have you prepared?
Me: C, DBMS, OS.
Interviewer: What about Java? Don\'t you know Java?
Me: I know but I am not very much confident about it.
Interviewer: Tell me the difference between procedural & object oriented language.
Me: Told.
Interviewer: Write a program of overriding?
Me: Wrote.
Interviewer: What is inheritance?
Me: Told.
Interviewer: What is DBMS?
Me: Told.
Interviewer: Properties of DBMS.
Me: Told.
Interviewer: Stages of SDLC.
Me: Told.
Interviewer: Write a C program to count the number of Strings.
Me: Wrote.
Interviewer: Any question?
Me: Asked.
Interviewer: Explained.
Interviewer: Okay, now you can go.
Result came on same day and I was selected. Out of 125, 90 students were selected. In interview what you need is confidence, while giving answers if confidence is reflecting from your face then you are almost there. And of course luck you can\'t ignore the luck factor, it plays a good role in interview.
All the best.
