Infosys Limited visited our campus on 27 Sept 2016 for recruitment for the role of System Engineer.

I will now describe the recruitment procedure:

There are three phases:

1. Pre Placement Talk: The HR of the company will give you a brief explanation about Infosys. Mostly it will be about the training and campus at Mysore.This pre placement talk is very important as you get to know what the company is looking for from you.

You will get a pretty good idea about how to handle your interview if you listen to this session carefully.

2. Online Test: This is a nightmare. Infosys aptitude test is the most difficult test out of all the mass recruiters.

It has 3 sections:

> Quant- 10 ques - Level of questions is medium to difficult (yes there is no easy question)- 35 min.
> Reasoning- 15 ques - Level of questions is easy to medium- 25 min.
> Verbal- 35 ques -  Level of questions is medium to difficult- 30 min.

If you clear the aptitude round of Infosys there are 90% chances that you will be placed.
165 students out of 1100 eligible students cleared this round. I was one of them.

3. HR+Technical Interview: Yes, Infosys does take technical interview!

It is totally on your luck that you get.
the HR panel, Technical panel or both (in my case).
There is only one round of interview in Infosys.

They will ask you questions related to your core branch, basic programs of C and C++ if you give the technical interview.

The HR interview is very easy they just check you confidence and communication skills that's all.

Now my interview was technical+HR, sp here is how it went.

Me: Good morning sir.
HR: Good afternoon, please sit.

Me: It's afternoon? I am Sorry sir I lost track of time.

HR: It's ok. So tell me about yourself.
Me: Name, branch, schooling, interests, hobbies, good and bad qualities.

HR: Okay. So you just said that you can work in a dynamic environment. What did you mean by that?
Me: Sir, I will be very flexible with my job profile. I am comfortable working in any situation and profile as required.

HR: Okay, so I will send you to Andaman and Nicobar. (laughs)
Me: Sure sir. (laughs).

HR: Tell me about your project.
Me: Told. (they ask you very deeply about your project, so know your project in and out.)

HR: What are your favorite subjects?
Me: Data Structures, EDC, Digital Communication.

HR: Why these subjects are your favourite?
Me: Explained.

HR: Tell me about your co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
Me: Told.

HR: All right, do you have any questions for me?
Me: Sir. As I am a fresher I know very little about the corporate world. I would like to know what will be your expectations from me as an employee and what can I do to improve myself.

HR: Explained.
Okay you can go now. Thank you for your time.
Me: Thank you sir.

125 out of 165 were selected. I was one of them.

So at Infosys the most important part is the aptitude round.
