Greetings Everyone!
I\'m xyz, pursuing my B.Tech from xyz College, Visakhapatnam.
Pre-Placement Talk:-
On 26th September, at around 9:30 AM, they gave us a Pre Placement talk about Infosys and its work culture as well as opportunities for us in the company along with an inspirational video-message from CEO, Mr. Vishal Sikka, just before the Online Written Test.
Online Written Test:-
At around 10:00 am, they divided us in the batches for the Online Test. My batch was Batch-2.
The format of Online Test was as follows:
1. Test-Section I/Arithmetic Reasoning and Analytical Thinking - 25 minutes - 15 questions.
- Data interpretation - 5 questions.
- Syllogisms - 5 questions.
- Data sufficiency - 5 questions.
2. Test-Section II/ Mathematical Critical Thinking and Logical Reasoning - 35 minutes - 10 questions.
- Permutation and Combination - 2 questions.
- Allegation or Mixture - 1 question.
- Number series - 1 question.
- Crypt-arithmetic - 1 question.
- Puzzle - 5 questions.
3. Test Section III/Test of Communicative English - 35 minutes - 40 questions.
- Critical Reasoning/Theme Detection.
- Fill in the Blanks.
- Sentence Correction.
- Reading Comprehension.
Out of 466 students, 197 got shortlisted for the next round which was Personal Interview.
Next day (28th, Sept) was the interview,
We had a total of 12 panels.
HR: Mr. xxxx, please take your seat.
Me: Thank You sir.
HR: Tell me about yourself ??
Me: Told.
HR: Why Infosys ??
Me: Told.
HR: So what are the projects you did till now.
Me: Told.
HR: Can you write program for Fibonacci series ??
Me: Explained about it.
HR: Explain client-server communication mechanism ??
Me: Explained about it.
HR: What are the types of databases ??
Me: Explained.
HR: Once again asked about my mini project and asked me to explain about it.
Me: Told.
HR: Latest trends in IT ?
Me: Told.
HR: Your experience in xxxxs college ?
Me: Told.
HR: What is cloud computing ??
Me: Told.
HR: Can you explain about the back end working of your project ??
Me: Told.
HR: Explain OOPS concepts ??
Me: Told.
HR: What is normalisation ??
Me: Told.
HR: What is the oracle you used in your project ??
Me: Oracle 10g.
HR: OK, do you have anything to ask me ??
Me: Sir, what are the new projects taken up by Infosys ??
HR: Explained and asked anything more.
Me: Nothing sir.
HR: Okay! All the best for your future. Thank You!
Me: Thank You Sir!
I\'m pretty sure and confident that I will be selected.
Results were announced, Out of 197 students, 147 were placed. But my name is not there in the selected list.
Believe me my friends, I really worked hard to get into Infosys for one year, and also explained the same to HR.
But he had rejected me.
