Infosys Interview Experience - Mumbai Dwarkadas J sanghvi College

Hi guys ,

I'am here to share my experience of Infosys's campus recruitment process that took place in my college.

Firstly, around 310 students appeared for the aptitude out of which 295 were shortlisted for the interview.

The aptitude round had 3 sections:

First section was LR , DI.

15 questions :25 mins.

Data sufficiency, DI, simple graph related questions were asked in this section. Nothing difficult, even without practice it is solvable and yes the time is enough to solve.

Second section was Quant.

10 questions : 35 mins.

This is the section with maximum time but I found this difficult because I am really weak in quant and especially chapters like probability and Permutation Combination.

4 questions out of 10 were really easy because they were logical reasoning and easy to solve.

The remaining questions included :

1) Number series (find the next number, hardly anyone got the answer to this one because it was a really tricky one).

2) Question on circular arrangement from Permutation and combination. eg: beads.

3) 2 questions from Probability,
One of the questions was something like this. There are 11 houses and a thief is supposed to steal from 3 houses in the night. Find the probability such that no 2 houses that he robs are next to each other.

4) Then there was a sum from time speed distance. This was a really time consuming sum. Not the typical speed time distance sum.

Next section was verbal.

40 questions : 35 mins.

This is the section where time management plays an important role. The few students who didn't clear the aptitude struggled with the verbal part.

So it had,

1) 2 Reading Comprehension. 5 marks each.

2) Around 20 questions were just sentence corrections . This is the easiest part to solve in verbal. Just attempt all the 20 questions and a RC you are good clear the verbal section.

3) Synonyms, Antonyms.

Again a small tip: Don't try attempting both RCs in the beginning. Do 1 RC and solve the easy grammar questions. You don't have to score, you just need to score above cut-off.

There is a sectional cut off for each section and NO NEGATIVE marking, so make sure you attempt everything. Even if you guys score 50% in every section, trust me you guys have cleared the aptitude.

Well in quant I got only 3-4 questions right and I still cleared the aptitude, so yes to clear the aptitude 50% in each section and you are good to go.

Next round was the interview round where out of 295 students around 268 cleared this round.

Since I'am EXTC he didn't ask me anything related to programming.

These were the few questions we were asked:

1) OSI model.
2) TCP model.
3) Devices in the OSI model.
4) Difference between switch router?
5) Why IT  industry?

6) What's going on in IT industry nowadays?
I said data analysis and big data. Then he asked me to give an example of Big Data.

7) What's latest in telecom industry ( Since I'am from E&TC department).

8) Tell me something about a latest technology discovered/Innovation.

9) If programs were asked they would be swapping 2 nos etc.(The easy programs).

Honestly, these would be most difficult questions that could be asked in the interview and every interviewer had repeated these questions. Some of them just asked about family background, favorite subject, BE project and picked the candidates.

And guys who didn't clear this round were basically he ones who didn't speak at all or were acting over confident. So yes they just need a reason to pick you, so if you speak confidently and still have zero technical knowledge you are still in the company because i could just answer 1-2 out of the few technical questions they asked.

Hope this helps. Best Of luck  :).
