Infosys Interview Experience - Bangalore, October 26,2014

Hi Friends.

This is Nidhi. I gave the Infosys exam on 26th of October, 2014. The written exam was easy but good time management is needed. There were three sections in all. But take care, that you need to clear each section as there will be sectional cut-off. Also timer will be there in every section. So, make a good strategy in your mind  before giving the exam.

In the 1st section, there will be 15 questions and the time given is about 25-30 mins.

5 questions of Data Interpretation, five of Syllogism and 5 other Simple Reasoning questions.

The key in this section is to attempt DI in last as sometimes it consumes more time because calculation part is more in DI.

In the 2nd section, there will be 10 questions and time given will be 30 mins.

For this section prepare well the 'Arithmetic Reasoning' which is in the 'Verbal Reasoning'  portion of IndiaBix. 1 questions from Cryptography was there and 1 from Geometry, Time and work, Time and Distance, Trains, Age Problem. Here, you only need to keep a calm mind as this section is very easy.

Just use your basic concepts of Maths here. Also, Cryptography question can be done even if you don't have any knowledge of it. I don't remember much but Data sufficiency Question was also there. And Allegations and mixtures, Puzzles, Simple interest were also there.

In the 3rd section, 40 English questions were there and time given was 35 mins.

There will be two passages covering almost 10 questions.  Another 5 questions will be from 'Theme Detection'. 5 other questions from 'fill in the correct phrases', fill in the correct Prepositions, spotting the errors. Question here will be easy but this section is too long.

The key in this section is to attempt the passages in the end and in that also, attempt the smaller passage first. Try to read the question given in the passage first and find out the answers directly from passage without completely reading it.  'Theme Detection' is also a little time consuming. So if it is taking more time then attempt the smaller passage before it. Its not possible for everyone to complete this section as the time is really less. I also did (30-32) questions in this section, the rest (8-10), I just marked randomly.

The good thing is "no negative marking". So, don't leave any question, attempt all of them. And if you don't know the answer of any question, don't leave it, mark a random answer that time only, because there were few people with me who left the questions like this and were not able to find time in the end to mark the random answers. Just keep yourself calm and you will be able to clear the written exam.

If you will clear the written, your interview will be conducted on the next day only or the next to next day. So, be prepared. I cleared  the written and my Interview was on 27th of October, 2014. (Thank you Bhagwan Ji)

In Infosys, there is only one interview after written, "The Tech+HR round". And, because, I am an ECE student, my Interview was not much technical. The scheduled time was 1:00 pm. And my turn came at 4:30 pm. My name was called and I went. My interview was of about (10-15 minutes).

Me: Good evening Sir.

Sir: Very Good evening. Please, have a seat.
Me: Thank you sir.

Firstly, for making me comfortable there, he started a general talk. Like, Where is your native? Where do stay in this city? How you came from there and all that i replied for all.

Sir: Ok Nidhi!! Now, quickly tell me about yourself.
Me: I told him about me.

Sir: Tell me about your Project.
Me: Told.

He started cross questioning in my project and also he was trying to confuse me in it to check my confidence and also the thing that how clear am I with my project.

Sir: You are from ECE. So, do you have knowledge of Coding Languages?
Me: Yes, Sir. I know the basics of 'C' and 'C++' very well.

Sir: Ok, you may go now.
Me: Thank you Sir. It was a pleasure.

The interviewer was a very nice person. Guys, you just need to be calm in the Interview also. Be clear on your words. Also, you should know everything that you have written in your CV.

Your project should also be very clear to you as this is the main question asked in Infosys Interview. According to me, your "Communication Skills and your Confidence" is judged in this round. So, work well on these things.

After a week the results were announced (4th of November, 2014) and I was selected. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much Bhagwan Ji. I got the confirmation. I was so happy to see that.

Guys, a positive approach, free and calm mind, and a strong strategy is needed everywhere Keep confidence  and all the best to everyone. All the very best.
