Infosys Interview Experience - Bhoj Reddy Engineering College for Women, Hyderabad

Hello guys,

Infosys visited our college on 8th of October. The min eligibility criteria was 68%.

The selection process consisted of 2 rounds:-

1. Written test.
2. HR interview.

Infosys written test is considered to be tough when compared to other company's.

It tests you in areas of logical reasoning, quants, vocabulary and the most imp of all TIME management.
If you are able of clear the written. You are 80% in! :).

The remaining 20% depends on the way you present yourself before the interviewer.
(confidence, communication skills, activeness, eagerness to learn. And a bit of technical knowledge).

I went through the previous question papers of Infy written tests. Nd found a similar pattern. And thought its gonna be an easy one.

But to our utter horror. We didn't get the same pattern. i.e. topics (for quant) : (.
And due to this reason. Many people failed to clear the written test.

1st section consisted of :

1. Data sufficiency (go all your maths books. School level. Because even geometry was asked).
2. Syllogism (5 sentences and 5 options. Choose correct one).
3. DI (was the toughest of all. Go pie charts. %, loss, profit).

There were 15 question from this section. DI will be tough so do that at last. And try to score full marks in d other question.

2nd section was QUANTS:-

1. Puzzle (5 Question. It was not seating arrangement but some type of logical thinking. Was bit tough. But I cracked it).

2. A prob covering both (hts & distance) + (time & distance).

If you don't trigonometric values. You can't attempt this.

3. Letter series. (we got a difficult ques).

4. Allegations & Mixtures.

5. Factorial.

{So what I meant to say is. Don't limit your learning to just prev years question or pattern. But also go through. The diff topics in quants }.

3rd section was VERBAL. It was very easy for me.

1. Theme detection.
2. Sentence correction.
3. Best usage of words.
4. Reading comprehension.(do at lst).

For section 1 & 2. Prefer CAT TIME books and R S Aggarwal.

For English. Read lots of novels. Newspapers and TIME book.

Remember every section has a cut off. And its mandatory to clear all.

So go for the question which you know clearly. And attempt dm first. Instead of wasting time for the one which you don't have any idea about. The cut off was most probably 60% (they didn't reveal).

The results for written test was announced by 8th evening. And 123/343 got placed from our college.
And I was one of them! :).

Interview was on the very next day. i.e. on 9th.
There were some 10 members in d HR panel.

I was the 2nd one to be called for the interview.

The Infosys guys are very friendly. You need not get scared. Or feel tensed.
There is a good pt for the non CSE/IT guys. They were not asked any technical question.

While the CSE/IT ppl should be good at DS, C, C++, OS and sometimes SE.
Go through the general C programs and some DS (that's enough).

What these guys look for is good communication skills. Confidence. And some tech knowledge.
Be prepared with the resume.

The results were announced in the evening. And 105/123 got placed. :).

Even ME! :D.

Hope this was informative. Wish you guys good luck. Meet you soon at INFOSYS! :D.
