Infosys Interview Experience - Kolkata, 26th and 27th September 2014

Hi, I attended the Infosys on campus Drive in My college.

It was said by our seniors that Infosys is easy to crack but trust me it is not at all easy.

At-least the aptitude test was a standard one.

Two rounds (after the company ppt) :

- Aptitude test.
- Interview (Technical & HR merged together).

As far as the aptitude test is concerned, it has a new pattern this year.

1st section- Questions from Data sufficiency (5) , Syllogism (5) , Data interpretation (5).
[15 questions 25 minutes].

2nd section- 5 Questions from quantitative part (Profit and loss, Allegations Mixtures, Time Speed and Distance) and 5 questions from one Logical Puzzle (Easy one).
[10 questions 35 minutes].

3rd section- English proficiency (I found it very very easy and finished before time maybe because of a good command over English).
[40 questions 35 minutes].

Overall I was confident about the last two sections but not the first one as time was less.

By god's grace 120 got selected for interview and I was one of them.

27th September we had our interview.

Since it was alphabetical wise, I stood 13th to appear. The Interviewer in my panel was a sweet bong old man.

I sat down comfortably after greeting him.

Interviewer: So Anamika. Briefly introduce Yourself.
Me: (Done).

Interviewer: Why are your marks so low in 12th as compared to 10th? you din't study?
Me: Sir who doesn't want good marks. I Definitely worked hard sir but maybe some subjects went wrong.

Interviewer: Which subject troubled you the most?
Me (I was told to be honest) : Sir Maths has been troubling me ever since the beginning of my school life.

Interviewer: (Smiled) Which chapter?
Me: Trigonometry.  (With a smile).

Interviewer: See it's all very easy. You just need to remember formulas. You have good Learning Skills?
Me: Yes sir but questions related to Proving went over my head.

Interviewer (Laughed) : Were you OK with physics?
Me: Ummm. Yes sir.

Now comes an unexpected question.

Interviewer : What is the difference between distance and displacement?
Me: *Answered*.

Interviewer: No No. Just tell me Which is scalar and which is vector?
Me: *I luckily Guessed it correct* :D.

Interviewer: Ya That's what I wanted to know. So Is C a platform dependent or independent language?
Me: Answered correct.

Interviewer: Write any C program you know. I will Start the timer To 2 minutes.
Me: *Started* but timed out. [Blunder. Should have started off a short one].

Interviewer: Ok So your parents stay in Jamshedpur. You Don't have a problem of relocation?
Me: No sir I love travelling. (Smiled).

Interviewer: Any questions for me?
Me: Yes sir would like to know something about the training at Mysore.

*He answered*.

Shaked Hands and said Thank you.

The results came in the evening. 101 Students were selected and I was one of them.
I got my Dream Company. :).

All the Best.
See you at Mysore. :).
