Hi Infosys aspirants, I am Divyavijay Sahay studying Information Technology from Dharmsinh Desai University. We had an on campus placement drive for Infosys on september 17 & 18, 2014.
First Day, September 17.
- Pre placement Talk:
Normally students don\'t consider it worth there attention but I would suggest to be attentive and take note of every important points. It may help you during the interview.
- Online Assessment:
There were 3 sections as per the new pattern followed by Infosys this year,
1. Logical aptitude (15 questions, 35 minutes) :
This section was overall easy. But they changed the pattern of syllogisms completely. There were 6 sentences each from which we had to choose three sentences that were logically connected, some of them were simple some weren\'t.
2. Quantitative Aptitude (10 questions, 25 minutes) :
Even this section was easy. We had questions from area, time and distance, cryptarithmetic (easy) , ratio and proportions etc.
3. Verbal (40 questions, 35 minutes) :
This section was a little nerve-wracking. It tests your vocabulary, grammar, speed, understanding of the content and for some, Luck.
We didn\'t had synonyms and antonyms, in fact more weightage was given to sentence correction and completion. There were 2 long passages with simple questions. Overall I felt the paper was focused on tenses and normal grammar mistakes we do while forming the structure of a sentence.
Tips:
- Attempt all the questions.
- Solve as many papers as possible mainly for verbal, under the time constraint.
- Take your time while solving quantitative section. It is mostly easy.
- Avoid passages in the beginning but complete at least one passage in between and keep the other for end. If you are a slow reader than keep both for the end.
- Practice, logical reasoning questions of all types.
From our college around 420 students took the exam and out of them 117 students were selected for personal interview and I was one of them.
Second Day, September 18.
We had only one round of interview which included technical + HR. Some student went through two rounds.
I cleared technical + HR both in one interview. Mostly IT/CE students were asked technical questions and almost everyone faced questions based on their projects (Very Important).
Be confident while answering any question and always feel free to say no if you don\'t know the answer and don\'t try to fool them, there\'s a reason why they are the interviewer and you are the interviewee.
Be prepared with an answer to some common questions like "Introduce yourself", "why infosys" or "any question for us" (here the ppt will help you) and questions based on your resume.
My interview was completely based on my projects. Both were android applications, the interviewer even asked me to give a live demonstration of one (I was prepared for it, with the app in my phone) and a detailed explanation of the other. Projects were my strength, so I tried and succeeded in diverting my interview towards them.
Overall, if you clear the online assessment test you are in. The interview is not difficult.
All the best, see you at Infosys.
