INFOSYS Interview Experience - HYDERABAD, APRIL 19, 2014

Posted By : Nisha Rating : +135, -4
Hi friend, this is Nisha from TRR College of Engineering and Technology from ECE Dept. I want to share my first interview experience with you.

It was conducted by JKC and nearly 1000 students attended it.

They divided the process in two rounds

1. Written Test.
2. HR + TR.

Only 84 students cleared the written test out 1000! and I was one to clear it :-).

It had two sections:

logical (ds, di, picture reasoning etc) and
verbal ( sentence completion, comprehensions, synonyms etc).

Guys all the questions were very easy but time taking, so practice a lot of online test to increase your speed and INDIA BIX can help you a lot to clear the written exam as it helped me to do so.

HR + TR:

Many people said me, if you clear written exam of Infosys then 99% you will be hired and HR round will be just a formality. Only basic questions like tell me about yourself, strengths, weakness etc. will be asked in HR round, So we all 84 students were waiting happily for our casual meet with the HRs. But to our shock it was not the casual interview, HRs were very very strict and asked only technical questions :(.

Luckily I carried my C text book with me and brushed my technical knowledge while waiting for my turn.

My name was announced and I was very nervous at that time.

ME: May I come in Sir.
HR: Yes Nisha please come in and have seat.

ME: Thank you Sir (and sat).

HR: (In a very fast tone) Nisha please dictate me about yourself.
ME: I was full tensed and I didn't understood what he said. so I asked him- sorry  Sir i dint get you.

HR: (In some what slow tone) Nisha please dictate me about yourself.
ME: I gave a brief intro about me (he was analysing my resume very carefully)

HR: Alright, how much good you are at C.
Me: Sir, if you want me to rate myself at C on a scale of 10 then I will give myself
7.5(i kept my rating low as i expected questions will be easy :P )

HR: Okay, what programs you can write using C.
ME: I can write many programs like displaying patterns, swapping... so on..

HR: (Took a paper and wrote some numbers) write a swapping program for those two pairs of numbers and bubble sort program for the other set of numbers.

He gave me paper and while giving he said write swapping program without using third variable.

ME: Took paper and my hands were shivering when I was writing and he was staring at me ..but luckily i know both of these programs and I was writing and simultaneously i was explaining him all the steps.

HR: Can u write the swapping program in some other way without using Temp variable.
ME: I smiled and said yes Sir we can write it by using multiplication and division and explained the process.

HR: Seeing my resume. Explain me about your project.
ME: Told.

HR: What questions did external asked you during your viva.
ME: Told. and answered them to him too.

HR: What are the types of touchscreens. which is better and what is present inside a touchscreen.
Me: Answered.

HR: What else you did in your college life.
ME: Said about my presentations... so on.

HR: How you will choose your presentation topic.
Me: Instead of searching a topic over net, I will think for sometime in which field I'm interested in and then select a topic of my interest and gather all information about it over internet and then make a presentation of it.

HR: Smiled. Nisha do u have any problems with relocation.
ME: No Sir for me work is important but not the place and time.

HR: I'm done with you Nisha you can leave.
ME: Thank You Sir gave a handshake. He then smiled and I left.

I was totally blank after that and friends please dont think that they wont ask technical questions. Non CS/IT they ask questions only from C. But it was a horror for CS/IT students as they asked a lot lot lots of technical questions and they even asked all the CS/IT students to write the implementation of their project (program)  from start till end.

They even asked a MECH student to prepare a seminar of 30 mins about honeypots and give a presentation to him after the end of the process.

It was really a tough interview process and only 40 out of 84 were selected.

And I was the one among those 40.

Now I can proudly say that I'M a INFOSION.

Waiting for my call letter :-)
Hope this info will help you :)
