Hi Friends

I am Lakhan Prajapati from Shri Vaishnav Inst. of Tech. & Science (RGPV), Indore. We had an open campus for Infosys in Medi Caps Engineering College on 20th (written) & 21st (HR Interview) March 2007. 843 students appeared in the written exam from 11 different colleges, of which 129 cleared the written and 104 were recruited finally by the HR. We had a PPT session in the morning in which we were clearly n distinctly told that we'll not be asked any technical questions either in written or in interview. I feel, that will bring a sigh of relief to many students.

Then we had a written exam. But before written exam started we were asked to fill up a form in which had to fill personal details with our educational details. Pls be extremely careful while filling these details b'coz they give marks from 100 after seeing all 3 (Educational background, Written exam, HR Interview). It implies that even if u could not do well in written exam, but hv an outstanding Educational background, u may be selected for the HR interview. And it also applies for the HR interview, that is if u could not do well in HR, but hv nice Educational background and had a fairly well written exam, then u may be selected.

Written exam consisted of the following sections :-

1. Quantitative Section : 30 Ques - 40 mins

Logical Reasoning : 5 Questions
Its either very simple or very tortuous. I feel just 10-12 questions of Barrons will prepare u for it, if its simple. If its not, then just skip this question and do the rest, else the time won't permit u do the later questions which are easier.

Spot the Odd picture out : 5 Question
Its again simple and requires you to practice just 10-15 question from R.S.Aggarwal Non-Verbal Reasoning.

Data Sufficiency : 5 Questions
Its level is mediocre. Try to do at least 25-30 question of different type from R.S.Aggarwal Verbal Reasoning.

Data Interpretation : 5 Questions
It's the simplest part of Quantitative Section. Even if u go without practice, u can do them without panic.

Data Deduction : 5 Questions
It's real brain-teaser. Try to do solve as many as u can of all types (like - All men are cats, No pen is coin, Some fools are great) from R.S.Aggarwal Verbal Reasoning. Yet if u can't get their nerve, don't brood much about it as it will be the same situation for your competitors too.

Logical Puzzle : 5 Questions
Just solve some puzzles from R.S.Aggarwal Verbal Reasoning. It will work.

2. Verbal Section : 40 Ques - 35 mins

2 long RC's  : 2 * 5 = 10 Questions
A friendly advice... Just leave them for the end and if u get time in the end, start with the smaller one. Comprehension is not tough, passages will be easy, but are lengthy n therefore time consuming, which may leave u with less time for rest of the questions which are easy as well.

Choose correct word/words to fill the Sentence : 10 Questions
Buddies, here pls take care of the ambiguity, awkwardness & redundancy. Pls take special care of redundancy, try to complete the sentence in as fewer words as u can and avoid extra n useless words. Most of the people complete the sentence logically n without ambiguity but don't pay attention to contract the sentence.

Choose best phrase : 10 Questions
U ought to hv some vocabulary here to make ur mark. I expect u all to mug up the Barron's high frequency word-list at least.

Fill in the blank : 5 Questions
Vocab again....

Inferential reasoning : 5 Questions
R.S.Aggarwal Verbal Reasoning will do the job.

HR Interview :

It was really a fun to be in front of the Infosys HR delegates. They won't grill u for more than 15 minutes n will ask very fundamental and mundane questions like :
- Define urself.
- Your strengths n weaknesses.
- If you had been in any complicated situation and came out triumphant, then share.

Guys, be as spontaneous n daring n different as u can. Do cite ur strengths with examples. Remember, Integrity holds the key. Do justify whatever u say, without vacillation.

Considering all above, I appeared n was recruited by the delegates of Infosys. Thanx to God, my parents and those who luv me.

All the Best guys, Winds are with the ablest navigator..
