After a small struggle, I got into Infosys.. I have already attended 6 interviews. As others do, I am also posting my experience here..

To be honest, I didn't prepare well for apps, puzzle etc. But I have cleared 1st round in almost all the interviews as they asked logical reasoning. When I came to know that Infosys pattern is changed from puzzle to logical reasoning, I have decided to fight well. But when I entered into the college where Anna University placement program was arranged, I was shocked to see around 2400 students with whom I am going to compete with. After the completion of registration and PPT, our first round started. They first gave us a long form in which we should fill all the details ranging from education to personal.

There were 40 logical reasoning questions in 45 mins and 30 verbal questions in 45 mins. Actually logical reasoning was pretty cool and the comprehension was too lengthy. Time management helped me a lot. After 4 hours they have announced the result and surprisingly I got short listed. Totally 136 students got short listed. We had to attend the HR interview the next day.

I gave a glance to the material which I have collected from Friends (  ). Important among them were "toughest HR questions" (  ). I was not sure that whether they will call me or not. Because I don't have the eligibility criteria mentioned by them. They asked consistently 65% from 10th. I have 79% in 10th, 64.75% in 12th and 78% in MSc(swe).

On the next day, I went to the college around 8.00A.M. They asked us to assemble in a seminar hall. We have been called randomly to the H.R interview. So everyone got the tense. "Will I be the next?" There was nobody in the seminar hall to restrict us. So I have started entertaining the seminar hall with my mobile by playing new songs. Thereby reducing the tension and everybody started enjoying that.

Finally I was called around 4P.M. I decided to use all the techniques which I have gathered from jobsites. I have entered the room with a fresh smile. There was a gentle man with age around 40+ was sitting. I was in a decision to give him a firm handshake. But unfortunately he was drinking water and said "Sit down selva". The long form which I have filled the previous day was in hand. Our conversation went like this..

Gentleman: Please give your resume.
Me: With pleasure..

GM: Your +2 marks are very low man..
(I have prepared 4 this question as I have expected this from a H.R)

Me: Actually there was a problem in my family when I was studying +2. I was prohibited to go to school for around 3months. With out going to school regularly, we cannot score high marks. Especially in Maths.

GM: What was the problem?
Me: If you don't mind, I was in love. (Actually I got this idea from my brother whose friend used the same answer during his interview)

GM: So you were in love with a girl.
Me: Yes sir. So there were some problems in my family.

GM: There is nothing wrong in love man.
Me: People have different opinion on this sir.

GM: What is she doing now?
Me: M.C.A

GM: Where?
Me: (unexpected question. But managed with some college name)

GM: But your first year marks are also not so good.
Me: I didn't know abt the college pattern. So it took me some time to settle down.

GM: In applied mathematics, you have failed.
Me: Sorry sir.

GM: You have failed in "Fundamentals of Software development" paper. As a software professional, I am not satisfied with you.
Me: Sorry sir.

GM: Try to solve this puzzle.
Me: (Solved within a minute)

GM: Good..
Me: Thank you sir.

GM: What is a team?
Me: A group of people working together to achieve a same objective.

GM: I know you will answer. This is a common question. But I will not ask these types of questions.

Then he asked several questions in analytical geometry like area of the rhombus, circumference of the cube etc, etc.. Most of my  answers were sorry sir. But when I knew an answer I was strong in saying that.

GM: You are too weak in Basic Mathematics. I cannot take you.. Can you say any one of your weakness?
Me: I know I am not too good in communication skills. I am working on that.

GM: How? Have you asked your staffs to teach you in English?
Me: Asking them to teach in English is not going to make a big difference as my part in that is just to listen. I am talking with my
friends in English..

GM: Ok selva, Have a nice day.
Me: Thank you sir.

Gave a firm handshake to him (Got a chance!!) and walked away with confidence. Actually pretended to be confident...

Finally 96 students got short listed. I was one among them. My name was probably the last name in the list which they read out.. Wow. Now I am one of the Infosions Unbelievable!!! I have moved freely with the H.R with out any tension. I didn't lost my smiling face even when he said, "I am not going to take you". This may be the reason for which they have selected me.. I may be there in the H.R's room around 15mins. He watched my eyes too closely when he asked questions to me. So as others said, "Be cool, Be confident". This is the secret of success.
