iGate Interview Experience - Jodhpur 23rd Oct, 2015
iGate came in our college on 23rd Oct.
First we had the written test before the pre placement talk. The paper was offline and the answers had to be marked on an OMR Sheet. The paper consisted of 50 questions in 60 minutes.
30 questions on English (Comprehension, Antonyms, Synonyms, Error detection, Sentence Completion and Para jumbles).
15 questions on Logical Reasoning (Syllogisms, Puzzle Test, Coding-Decoding, Number Series, Figure Series, Blood Relations).
15 questions on Aptitude (Percentage, Ratio, Permutations and Communication, Probability, Time and Work, Allegations and Mixtures, SI & CI).
The pre placement talk mainly concentrated on CapGemini, Its history, Its clientele, Its services etc. iGate has been acquired by CapGemini so the presentation will focus on both the firms.
The test has no negative marking and the cut off can be as high as 48. But usually it is around 44-45. So, attempt all 50 questions.
After the mass elimination in the written test, shortlisted students are given an 8 page form to fill which is very important as the HR may ask questions on the entries that you have filled.
The Technical Interview will mainly focus on all the projects, training, seminars and workshop attended. For all the non CS/IT guys, don't specify the languages that you don't know because they are obviously more knowledgeable and will be able to identify if you are bluffing.
The HR will ask at least 2-3 questions based on the PPT that they've shown. The common questions for all is 'Describe Yourself'. The HR expects you to ask questions on the doubts you have. Its better to ask something because they write a feedback on all your answers.
Confidence is the key.
