Posted By : Anuj Rai Rating : +272, -12
Hi guys.

I am Anuj Rai.

I got a mail few days back from IBM regarding invitation for off campus.
Criteria =>65% or =>6.5 cgpa in highest qualification for 12/13/14 batch B-Tech.
IBM is strict regarding its criteria even 64.9% is not allowed.

I attended the online assessment test of IBM, on 13th May at Dronacharya College in Gurgaon for Associate Technical Operation profile. More than 700 candidates attended that test.

Selection Procedure consist of three rounds.

** Aptitude Round
** English Assessment Round
** HR + TR

****************** Aptitude Round *************************

In this round there was 18 question based on Time and Work, profit loss, speed distance, interest and some related questions but all are simple but the only thing is there was a timer of 2.15 minute for each question.

Use of computer calculator is allowed and No negative marking. After the test we are asked to wait in a room and our result came around 6:45 p.m. in the evening, they are calling the coupon id of selected candidates allotted during the test.

Around 250 were selected for next round and I am also one of them. We are asked to report tomorrow (14th May, 2015) at 9:00 am with all the original documents and resume.

***************** English Assessment Round *********************

Important:

Before submitting your resume, make sure that you are aware of things you wrote in your resume meaning of every word and line. As they ask questions from your resume and you have to justify it without indulging any quarrel with them.

Quarrel= No Selection

I was waiting for my number for 2nd round. It comes at around 4.30pm; there was a beautiful young lady.

Me: Good afternoon mam.

She: Very good afternoon, have a seat.
Me: Thank you mam.

She: So you have done B.Tech in E&C?
Me: Yes mam

Mam: What were you doing after completing B.Tech in 2014?
Me: Worked as analyst for 4 months

Mam: Reason for leaving?
Me: Job is not of my domain and secondly salary is quite low. I was doing that job because i don't like sitting idle and I don't want to depend on my family for my expenses.

Mam: Ok! Why you want to switch to IT?
Me:  As the domain of E&C is quite narrow and chances of getting in core filed is hard as there are few companies.

Mam: What are your hobbies ?
Me: Told.

She asked ok! nice. Have nice day. You can wait outside for result.
Me: Nice to meet you mam. Have a nice day. And I went out of the room.

Make sure you justify your answer and don't try to over smart, show them your simplicity, confidence and eagerness to join IBM.

Result was announced around 5:30 p.m. and my name is there in selected candidates list.
Out of 250. Only 150 member selected for the 3rd/final round. After that One young lady came in hall told us that all of selected guys can leave for today. And Next day you will come with your original documents along with Xerox.

****************** HR+TR ********************************
Next day (15th, May,2015) I reached around 9:30 a.m. for my next round. When I reached then I saw that lot of candidate who called for this round are standing in line and waiting for their verification. They hand over us a 5 page printed back to back IBM employment forum to fill and asked for photo id xerox. After 1 hour candidates are called for interview.

There were two panels who were conducting this round and each interview took around 20-25 minutes.

Around 5:30 p.m. my name was called out. At that time I was experiencing the taste of both nervousness and excitement.

Me: May I come in Sir?

Interviewer: Yes (with smiling).
Me: Good evening sir.

Interviewer: Good evening Anuj. How are you?
Me: I am fine sir.

Interviewer: You tired, as it been a long day..?
Me: Not at all sir.

Interviewer: (after checking my resume). Ok! Anuj tell me about yourself?
Me: Told.

Interviewer: Why IBM?
Me: I don't know about others sir but for me IBM stands for INTELLIGENT BRILLIANT MINDS because IBM was the first organization invented PC and magnetic stripe behind atm and debit card and I don't want to miss this opportunity.

Interviewer: Nice. Why IT sector as you are from EC background?
Me: Told.

Interviewer: Why you Opt E&C and what you know about computers?
Me: Told.

Interviewer: Suppose you got offer letter for IBM and at the same time you got the offer letter from GOOGLE same position but double salary then what you will do and why ?
Me: Told.

Interviewer:  How many lines are there in IBM logo and what they depict?
Me: Told.

Interviewer: Some question asked from C like swap, palindrome.
After that.

Interviewer: Ok! Anuj I m done, do you have any questions regarding the profile?
Me: Asked.

Interviewer: Ok! Anuj thank you. You can wait outside for result.
Me: Thank you sir! Have a great day.

I came out from interviewer's room and waiting for my result.

Results were announced and that time I could feel the effect of adrenaline in my body and finally my name is called out and I was like I'm on moon with Neil Armstrong. My heart was so beating but by god's grace after some time one lady came told to me that I am selected. After some time my personal information are verified and documentation is done

Keep your coupon number with you till you get the offer letter from IBM; it's your identity as per IBM.

During this three day journey I made a lot of friends, it's really life changing experience.
Best of luck to all of you.

Thanks,
Anuj Rai
