Hi, friends I want to share some questions which appeared in Finisar, It was a very easy test it had 3 sections.
1st contained some very basic Op-amp, RC circuit and 12th class optics (ray & wave optics) problems.
Some examples are -
What is the time constant of the RC circuit,
Examples of ray optics- refraction, reflection.
Examples of wave optics- laser, diffraction.
Question from inverting and non-inverting Op-amp ex- Vin, Rf & R1 was given then find Vo.
2nd section consists of some basic computer science and electronics questions-
Difference between java and C++.
Convert 2^8 to binary.
3rd section contains 12th class heat and thermodynamics, mechanics (rectilinear, circular motion, rotational, force, work-energy. ) and maths mainly 12th class integration and differential equation.
In this section also problem was very simple example; Force and displacement was given then find work done (be careful about of -ve and +ve sign).
Difference in temperature, initial length of wire and thermal coeff was given then find the final length of the wire.
Question from the ideal gas equation.
Thermal current.
Finding limit.
Integration using pi factor.
Differential equation having 2 variables.
Finding acceleration if initial velocity, final velocity and time is given.
I will advice you to revise the heat and thermodynamics, mechanics and optics also alternative current. It will be better if you revise 12th class physics, revise 12th class maths, for the 2nd section read some basic computer science questions. In past years 2nd section was optional but for this year in my institute it was compulsory.
For 1st and 2nd section questions time limit was 45 sec per que and for 3rd section time limit was 3 min. The paper was very easy and you should know all the basic concepts. Try to solve questions fast. You can use a calculator for Finisar test.
Good pointer, 10th, 12th % and a better rank in AIEEE or IIT-JEE gives you a better chance in Interview rounds.
