Ericsson Interview Experience - Bangalore, March 18, 2014

Let me begin by thanking IndiaBIX. This website was extremely useful to find placement papers and interview experiences that people have had with various companies.

My placement process for Ericsson was held at Amrita School of Engineering, Bangalore. Ericsson usually has four rounds to their placement process, which are:

1) Aptitude test.
2) GD.
3) Technical Interview.
4) HR interview.

I was one of the rare few who had two technical rounds (god only knows why).

The aptitude test was pretty simple. There were three parts. First was logical, sequences and all that. It was simple just had to be quick. Then verbal and finally quants. It was all simple honestly, the only thing is we had to be fast and there was no negative marking so you could mark whatever your gut said when you didn't know the answer.

194 people took this test. 74 cleared to GD. Luckily so did I.

GD was fun actually. Just basic topics like Why facebook, Women empowerment, etc.

50 people or so cleared. Again so did I.

Next was technical round. I don't know how this round works for CSE students but I am in ECE and my technical "rounds" were bad. Yes me and a few others (maybe two or three out of 30) had an extra technical round. But no worries, that almost hardly happens.

I was questioned on almost everything I studied in the past four years and I think beyond also. These are few questions I still remember on the back of my head:.

1) What all do you know about communication?

2) Define PCM.

3) What is a multivibrator?

4) What is the difference between latches and flip-flops?

5) What is waterfall model? (This is an IT question).

6) What are half wave and full wave rectifiers? What are devices that implement the same principle?

7) What is an op amp? Explain its working.

8) What is a Zener diode? What are its applications.

9) Tell me everything you know about Embedded systems (This is my area of interest).

And many more I am unable to recall now. My tech rounds were hard but it was totally worth it. The point is to be confident and humble throughout the interview and not be arrogant no matter how much they probe you (the interviewer had told me I got rejected just to see how I react to it and then let me through to the next round because I responded humbly and did not argue).

30 people cleared this round. So did I :).

Next was HR round.

He asked me basic questions like introduction, about my family, their professions, why Ericsson, have I got any other job offers, etc. HR was easy for me because he was impressed with how confident I was about myself inspite of running around and being exhausted all day. And I was the only girl who interacted with them during pre-placement talk (Please do interact with them during pre-placement talk no matter how nervous you are, it will definitely serve as a bonus for you through the process).

And finally the next morning we got an email which said 21 of us got placed in Ericsson :).

A lot of people didn't even turn up for the process because they believed they wouldn't make it to a core company. I am very proud to say I didn't give up.

To every single person who is reading this, my cgpa is 6.96 and I am technically only an average student. If I can make it then so can any of you. Be confident about yourself, you will be unstoppable I guarantee you.

All the best to every single person reading this and appearing for the process.

God Bless :).
