CTS Interview Experience - Kolkata , Netaji Subhash Engineering College, 19th October 2019
Note:- People will say even by doing 1 programming they got the interview call, but trust me don't go by their words, do at least 3+ questions in automata, and never try to do all, because there will be question that will not happen in that limited time and you shall dodge those, so selection is an important thing here.
And one more thing, CTS conducts this test through AMCAT sitting in home putting on webcam, So do not try to be clever, there are AI which will detect and cancel your exam, and if you sit with any of your buddies, put them aside, because numerous pictures will be taken which will be given to your interviewer, so better do it on your own.
So I cleared the exam and got an interview call. I prepared days and night for this thing and now I am there.
My interview scheduled on 19th October 2019 with many other colleges (actually it was an off campus comprising many other colleges).
There was 'n' number of panels and the interview was 1:1.
So my technical interviewer was damm cool, we discussed from guitar to ukelele to switzerland and many things. One thing I made clear to him that I m gonna join none but IT sector, so he didn't asked any electrical questions to me and if he asked even I was clear I would have told him that my core knowledge is very weak.
Some of the questions I remember:-
1. Difference between a++, ++a, ==, =.
2. Write programs using each of them.
3. Difference between fabs and abs--- (I didn't know and I told that, be very honest, they do not expect you to know every thing).
4. What is a pointer?
5. What is wild and dangling pointer.
6. Write a program where declaration will be in character but output will be in integer--- (tricky one, ASCII value ques).
7. What are the header files and their importance?
8. Write any program using pointers------ (see here I made mistake and I knew it, so I clearly told that I m quite nervous and anxious so I m getting it wrong but I explained him what I tried to do).
Note: If you completely don't know tell them, but if you see you can try it, so try, take as much your time, show them you need the job.
Luckily I cleared the technical and proceeded to HR.
The HR guy was complete opposite to the technical, he was not even listening to me, he was yawning, looking aside, but trust me they do listen, they do it intentionally to distract you, to test you in the moment. Be very confident of what you say, they do not expect you to be some New York Times editor so if you have a problem in speaking English, take your time, calm down, think and then speak.
The questions raised:--
1. Define success.
Ans - Sir to me success is something when you stop getting stimulated by the surroundings, till you compare with your surrounding, you can never satisfy yourself and there will be no limit, so success is basically competing with myself and growing each day.
2. Tell a instance where failure has become a pillar to your success in your life.
Ans - Told a instance. If you do not get one, make a story but that must be convincing. Do not tell some bollywood shit.
3. Why electrical to IT?
Ans - Told.
4. Any problem to relocation?
Ans - Sir travelling is my lifeline, I will intentionally relocate myself, so not a problem at all.
5. Any problem in shifting hours?
Ans - Not at all sir.
> Do take note of your dress up, grooming is an important thing in IT sector.
> Always have a smiling face.
> Wish when you enter (good morning or whatever) and wish when you exit (nice meeting you sir).
> Be very honest (they test hundreds of guys like you everyday).
> If given a problem, try your best taking your time (no rocket science will be given to you).
>Be CONFIDENT and maintain eye-contact.
>Do not listen to anybody what questions were asked and all, you will get provoked and may mess it up. Be your own.
>Do not copy HR answers from net, take the questions and make your own reason and answer.
>Last but not the least, pray to GOD.
Voila! One week later, they put the names and 4 from our dept cracked it, and I was one of them. I was in road when I saw it, and I literally cried down. I was so happy.
Work very hard, it no a big deal, just remember one thing, " A Man is not judged by the celebration he makes, He is judged by his reaction when his back is against the wall ".
And a big thanks to INDIABIX to be the partner in hardest time, and it always been a dream to write here, and today is the day!
