Hi friends, I just want to share my interview experience with Cognizant. Please read most of the interview experiences so that it will give you a brief idea about interview.

First of all, Written test was conducted on 21-Aug-2018 by AMCAT. I hope you all know about the written test pattern.Total 700 students were attended for written test. 120 people were cleared written test. Written test results were announced two days later. Fortunately, I was also one of those 120 members. For shortlisted people, TR and HR were conducted on 01-Sep-2018. We were informed to assemble at the venue at sharp 7:30 AM. Interview process started from 08:00 AM on wards.

My turn came at 02:30 PM.

I: Interviewer.
M: Me.

M: Excuse me sir, may I come in?
I: Please come in, told his name.
M: May I sit sir?

I: Please have a seat.
M: Good afternoon sir.

I: Good afternoon. Tell me about yourself?
M: started with name, educational details, hobbies, family details, strengths etc.. I was going like super fast.

I: cool Naveen. We have plenty of time. Take your time.
M: Yes sir, just a bit of anxiety.

I: Okay. Why you want to shift from EEE to IT side?
M: Actually sir, in my B.Tech first year we were introduced C programming. I feel the concepts are little bit interesting and programming involves lot of logical thinking.

I: So you are good at logical thinking.
M: Yes sir.

I: Can I ask you one non-IT logical puzzle?
M: Sure sir.

I: Why boats float on water instead of sink as they are made up of metal?
M: After thinking for a while and coming out of shock, I told sorry sir, I don't know.

I: No problem Naveen, But don't tell I am good at logical thinking.
M: Smiled and okay sir.

I: For the past how many days you are learning java?
M: Since three months sir.

I: Write a program for swapping if two variables with out using third variable?
M: Wrote the logic and explained him. He was impressed.

I: Write a program to print the following pattern with out using looping statements
M: Just give me a minute sir.

I: No problem, take your time. If you don't know also, it doesn't matter. I won't reject you based on this question. We will discuss some more.
M: After a sigh of relief and after one minute, sorry sir, I don't know.

I: No problem, write a program to reverse a string
M: Wrote the logic clearly and explained him and he was impressed once again.

I: Okay naveen, tell me about your father.
M: Told for one minute. He stopped me.

I: Which crops your father would cultivate?(My father is a farmer).
M: Told.

I: Will you help your father in those aspects(cultivating crops)?
M: Yes sir, when ever I get free time, I will go to my village and help my father.

I: Tell me about your hobbies?
M: I like playing cricket and photography.

I: What will you use for photography?
M: I will use my mobile phone sir.

I: Is your mobile phone with you right now?
M: No sir, I kept it in my bag.

I: Okay, why should cognizant hire?
M: Actually sir, as I am a fresher, I don't have any answers for that question. But I can assure you will get an answer for that question with in 6 months or one year if you hire me.

I: That's a nice answer man. I am convinced.
M: Thank you sir.

I: I was done with my part. Do you have any questions?
M: Yes sir. Can I expect my name in the HR list?

I: See naveen, don't ask this question on any of the interview.
M: Okay sir, thank you(gave a firm hand shake and smiled) and left the panel.

I was not sure I will get shortlisted after not giving answers for those questions. After waiting for 15 minutes, my name was called for HR round. Out of 120 nearly 80 people got shortlisted. with out the second thought, I went to HR panel.

M: May I come in sir?
I: Please come in and have a seat.
M: Thank you sir.

I: Hi naveen, tell me about your family, career opportunities, educational details and hobbies.
M: Told.

I: You said you like playing cricket, do you watch cricket?
M: Yes sir.

I: Who is your favourite cricket player?
M: Gautham Gambhir sir.

I: Any reasons.
M: I gave three perfect reasons and he was satisfied with those reasons.

I: You said your favorite player is gambhir, do you hate Dhoni?
M: Smiled. Actually sir, my favorite player is gambhir. It doesn't mean I should hate dhoni. As I am a Indian, I have to respect each and every Indian.

I: Nice naveen.(He was impressed).
M: Thank you sir.

I: Any relocation and shifts problem?
M: No sir.
I: That's it and you may leave now.

M: sir, I have a question
I: yes.

M: Before entering into any organization, what are the things that I have to improve sir? Let it be anything.

I: He told and I was satisfied. Anything else?
M: Nothing sir.

I: Thank you and gave a firm hand shake
M: Thank you sir.

After three days, I got a call that you are shortlisted. Out of nearly 80 people 68 was selected finally. I want to tell you one thing guys. Clearing the written test will book your selection almost 70% in the company. For TR and HR, be confident. You don't need to answer all the questions. Hope my interview experience will help you in fetching you a job.

All the best to the one's who are trying to get a job. Success may be delayed but not denied. Forgive me if there are any grammar mistakes. I am some what not good at English. All the best to you guys.
