CTS Interview Experience - KOLKATA 2ND APRIL 2016

Posted By : Saborni Banerjee Rating : +98, -1
Hello,

I attended off-campus drive of CTS at Unitech. Though it was not my first time for CTS. I attend it earlier on-campus but that time I was not prepared for aptitude part. So I failed to clear it. After that around 1.5 years again I attended  it.

AMCAT sent me a mail on the 23rd March for a home test which required an internet connection, webcam, and a laptop/PC. I gave the test on the 24th March the pattern of the test was as follows,

1) English 25Q 25 min.
2) Quants 16Q 16 min.
3) Reasoning 14Q 14 min.

For me, English part was quite tough. prepare synonyms, antonyms, sentence correction from R.S Aggarwal English book. That will be enough.

Quants part was easy. Questions from mainly S.I, C.I, number system, percentage, profit & loss. IndiaBix/R.S Aggarwal is enough for this.

The reasoning part was super easy. Questions mainly from direction, blood relation, coding decoding, statement conclusion. Just practice a little bit from IndiaBix.

After that, I got a mail from AMCAT on 31st March that contained hall ticket for an interview on the 2nd march.

Interview day:

My reporting time was 8 AM. They told for the documents needed otherwise  they would not allow for an interview. Somehow I managed to gather all after 1hr. My interview started around 2 PM. It took around 20 min.

Me: Good afternoon sir.
Int: yah. Please seat.
Me: thank you.

Int: Ok. What is your strong area in technical part?
Me: Java, SQL, OS.

Int: Data structure?
Me: No.

Int: What is null value in SQL?
Me: Told.

Int: Gave me his tab and told me to write an SQL query.
Me: Wrote.
(some cross question from that)

Int: What is the balanced binary tree?
Me: Somehow managed.

Int: What are multiple inheritances? Diff b/w multilevel and multiple.
Me: Explained well.

Int: Again gave me his tab and ask output of the C program (which contained malloc structure pointer)
Me: Don't know.

Int: Ok. Gave another program (tricky).
Me: Managed to give an answer about 50%.

Int: Ok. (again gave the tables) in which normal form?
Me: Told and explained well.

Int: What is the diff b/w sequential and binary file and which one is better?
Me: Told and explained well.

Int: What is circular link list?
Me: Again data structure! ok. I know that. told.

Int: Ok. That's all I want to ask.
Me: Thank you.

Waited for 6-10 min then they called me for HR.

Me: Good afternoon ma'am.

HR: Introduce yourself. (some cross question)
Me: Told.

HR: Introduce herself. Then ask me where are you from?
Me: Again told.

HR: Why CTS?
Me: Told. (I was not prepared for that but pls do some homework) anyway answered.

HR: Read and sign.
Me: Did accordingly.

HR: If your posting is in Chennai, then?
Me: I will be happy. :)

HR: Why? do not like to stay in Kolkata?
Me: Gave some explanation.

HR: Are you working somewhere?
Me: No.

HR: You are from IEM, Saltlake?
Me: Yes.

HR: If after 6 months, Infosys offers you 2*, TCS offers you 2*salary?
Me: Told.

HR: How long you want to stay here?
Me: Told.

HR: Any question?
Me: (after thinking sometimes). What is the condition of CTS, Chennai after the flood?

HR: Told. Any other question?
Me: No ma'am. May I leave?

HR: No, wait then I will tell you what to do.

Waited for 2-3 min and then they again called me for another HR.

HR: Do you have the passport?
Me: No.

HR: Immediately apply for it.
Me: Ok.

HR: What is your 10th%?
Me: Told.

He verify no's and stamped on every document.

HR: You may leave for the day. We will mail you within 15 days.

On 4th April, I got a mail from CTS that they want a passport. After that, they will take my candidature further.

I mailed them passport application form & back on 8th April. And that day I received my 1st offer letter. Waiting for DOJ.

Guys, I want to share my view. If you are in 3rd or 4th year please please be prepare for on campus. This is the easiest way to get a job. Otherwise you have to face a lot of problems.
I failed to crack NRI Fintech, Erricson, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Techmahindra, TCS, HCL Infra and 9-10 small company. Please wait for your turn. Surely you will be placed. Keep faith in yourself and time.

Best Of Luck Guys!!!!!!!!
