It started with a PPT. A senior HR with some of technical leads conducted PPT. PPT was good you feel like getting into the company after PPT. The process comprises of 3 rounds :

1. Aptitude Test.

2 Technical Interview.

3 HR Interview.

There was an online test.

Questions were easy logical questions comprised of some questions like odd patterns, ages, data interpretation etc English was very easy had 2 comprehensions in which you can easily match the answer word to word. Error spotting, jumbled etc was also there.

The apti test was online conducted by Merittrec (under the name pariksha).

Technical Interview :

(1). what are the subjects you are comfortable in ?

>> C, Data Structures, Compilers and Data Mining was also my Fav Sub.

(2). He was waiting for me to say Databases. But I didn\'t say, Then he asked me you have not learned database?

>> I have studied but I am not fluent with it.

(3). What are Static variables ?

>> Replied.
Counter question. Then what are constants. ?
>> Replied.

(4). Then he asked me a C program, the program which returns 1 for A, 2 for B, 3 for c and so on26 for z.

>>I replied confidently. (He was convinced). , though he asked me that can we have a better solution. I replied yes obviously sir this is a one shot solution came in to my mind. If given time I can certainly make it much better.

(5). Then he Jumped over to Database. What are One to One relationships What are One to Many Relationships. ? Examples ?

>> Tried to answer but were not correct although I was answering him wrong very confidently. He explained me when I finished my answers.

(6). What is primary key ? what is alternate key ? >> primary key answered, said confidently that I can\'t recall alternate key.

(7). Project questions >> answered.

(8. ) Steps in waterfall model for software engineering ?

>> Answered.

(9). Hobbies and what you do in spare time?

>> Answered. Was just a general interaction.

At last he asked any questions for him I grabbed the chance and asked him question and then rapid fire started:

1. How is your experience with cognizant?

2. How long you have been working?

3. Where are you from?

4. Do you also provide internship?

HR Interview (Duration : 20-25 mins).

I was selected in Technical, and now it was HR, thought and heard that HR is just formality but it turned out to be quite a good interview too.

(1). Why we should hire you?

>> Answered. Mentioned about my internship (it was a management internship).

(2. ) How you think you have an edge over others (while comes to managerial abilities? >> Answered her and she was convinced.

(3. ) why Cognizant?

>> Answered because it is one of the fortune 500.

Counter question : why ? there are other 499 companies.

>> Answered : made stories and said because it is fastest growing company.

Counter question : How does it matters whether a company is growing or not, you will be getting your salaries in either of the conditions?

>> Answered and she was convinced.

(4. ) Last few questions were about locations, family etc etc.

Both Technical and HR interview lasted for about 30 mins.
