Cognizant Technology Solutions Interview Experience - FIEM, Kolkata, 11th & 12th September, 2015
First of all, on the very first day i.e. 11th We gathered in our college and we had a pre-placement talk with officials of Cognizant. We were lucky enough that we had Sr. Director of Learning & Development of Cognizant. Mrs. Mahua Bagchi she was and Ms. Unnati Narayan came on that day.
After that, Cognizant made a seating arrangement for all of the students for the aptitude round. Here, the story begins. This year 'Merittrac' took the aptitude test on behalf of Cognizant.
There were two sections.
1. Analytical ability- This consisted only logical reasoning questions and data interpretation.
2. Verbal ability-Mainly passages, Spotting errors, fill in the blanks etc.
The aptitude paper was hell easy. But I wanna give you one advice that if "Aspiring Minds" is going to take the apti round then there will be quants section separately and the difficulty level will be medium. But for sure harder than "Merittrac".
After that, at the end of the day the result was declared by our TPO and I was selected for that round. :). Next, We had to submit our profile along with the necessary documents and we were told to report on the next day for our technical and HR interview sessions.
On the next day, We went to the college and the interview starts on 10 am. There were 25 technical panels. I went for tech round around 2 pm. Trust me, The interviewer was so nice and to the point only person. Firstly, He asked me to introduce myself. Let me tell you please tell your technical skills followed by your basic intro as much as possible. If you did any kind of project please do mention it. Next he asked me about ALP (Assembly Language Programming). But I clearly told him that sir, I forgot everything about ALP. I have read Digital and Basic Electronics. After that, He asked me to draw SR and JK F/F and distinguish between them. I answered it perfectly. Next he asked me to solve one puzzle. Luckily that puzzle was known to me. I saw that in NAT GEO just a week before the placement. After that He asked me one more puzzle. But this time I was not getting any clue to solve it and I told him that I can't answer it. He was so nice that he gave me one clue and I answered it. That all. This was my Tech interview.
Guys, Let me tell you do read one or two subjects of you syllabus thoroughly and little bit of C programming (if you are both form CSIT and non-CSIT background). Your smartness and immediate situation handling capacity will be helping you lot more than your bookish study.
Within 1 hour the result was declared and I was selected for the HR round.
I was the last candidate of my panel for the HR Round. The interviewer was a sweet lady. She first told me to settle down and I thanked her (This is obvious. Do thank her/him). After that, she asked me to introduce myself. This time I introduced myself and told the things like as a human being how am I, What I like to do, what are my strength and weaknesses. Then she asked me about my project for which I got the 1st prize in a competition. She was very much interested about that. It was a normal conversation with her. Don't prepare so much for the HR because none can tell you what kind of conversation is going to take place there. I suggest to be enough courteous, be free from relocation problem, be well behaved. Lastly, she asked if I had my lunch. I said no. Then she said that go and get you lunch fast.
After 9 days the final result came and I got placed at Cognizant. It was like my dream came true at last.
