CTS Interview Experience - SRM University, September 16th, 2015
CTS came to my college on September 16th. The first round was the aptitude round and around 4300 wrote the test. The aptitude was not so tough and if you practice from this website, then you will clear it easily. The results were out by evening and around 2300 were short listed for the interview process.
Interview process went on for 2 days (18th & 19th).
As I belong to ECE department, not much from Computer Science was asked. Here is my TR experience.
TI: Why IT when you are from ECE?
(He did a strange thing... he took all of my grade sheets and then...)
TI: He asked me to write all the subjects which I studied in 5th semester on a paper.
Me: Laughed for a while and tried hard to answer as many as possible and could answer only about 70% of the subjects. (trust me guys, its not easy 2 remember the exact names of the subjects of all individual semesters)
TI: Differences between Microprocessor & Microcontroller.
TI: Applications of processors & Controllers.
TI: Write a program in 8086 assembly language to swap two numbers.
Me: Wrote it on a paper. (wasn't too sure though)
TI: Draw the circuit of Full Adder and explain in detail.
Me: Did what he asked.
TI: I think that's enough for me. Now, you can go.
Me: Thanks sir, have a nice day.
Then after a while, I was shortlisted for HR interview.
HRI: Tell me about yourself.
HRI: You have studied ECE for 4 years and you will join IT company. That means you may ditch IT also someday to join some other field.
Me:Told (had to convince her that I won't)
HRI: I see that you have joined a lot of teams in your university. Can you explain your experiences and your role in each of the teams?
HRI: Tell me some instance when you searched the day for your team.
Me : Told.
Then, they gave me a paper which had 3 non-negotiable conditions of the company which were asked to be read and signed if I'am okay with it.
I did the same.
Then, I bid her goodbye and walked off confidently.
On October 1st the results were out. 1500 students were selected. I was selected in CTS, TCS, Wipro, Infosys...
Guys, all you have to do is,
1) Get your aptitude skills right well before the exam.
2) Don't fake on resume and be thorough with whatever is there on it.
3) Have a couple of subjects in AREAS of interest and be thorough with all it's basics.
4) Most importantly, be confident and have a smiling face always and communicate clearly.
That's it, you will be placed for sure. All the best folks.
