Cognizant Technology Solutions was 1st of the four day 1 sharing companies in our college.
The drive started with an online exam in around 2500 students appeared. The online exam comprised of numerical aptitude, logical reasoning and verbal ability.
There was no negative marking and the questions were fairly general the only difficult constraint being time. One needs to be focused during the 95 mins test in which there were 95 questions. One of the most important things is that no questions should be left unmarked in the exam. Results of the online exam was declared that evening itself. Around 1500 qualified the online exam.
It was followed by two rounds of personal interview. The first round was technical interview and those who qualified the technical interview would only go on to the HR interview. In the technical interview they mainly focused on the technical knowledge and some panelists went on further to check the communication skills as well. Technical questions focused on the basic subject knowledge. Questions are mainly framed from your answers.
You can mostly control your PI. Questions were focused on the certifications and projects in most of the panels. So one needs to be thorough with the certifications mentioned in the resume. Most of the rejections were in the technical round only. Around 720 students went on to the HR round.
The HR round was purely for testing the communication skills and interest of the students. The only need in the HR round is to be confident and fluent in whatever you say. A clarity in speech is necessary.
Just being confident and having clear thoughts were the key points success in the CTS interview for me. All the best to everyone.
