Cognizant technology Solutions Interview Experience - MIT Pune, 2nd september 2014

Posted By : Ashish Rating : +24, -1
Hello friends, I am Ashish from MITAOE pune.

I attended the campus recruitment process for Cognizant Technology Solutions on September 2, 2014 in the shared day campus.

There were 659 students who gave the online test, out of which 328 were selected for the technical and HR round.

The first round is the aptitude test:

This is the major elimination round, if you clear this than your are just 25% away from getting into CTS.

The aptitude test was conducted by aspiring minds amcat. It was pretty easy.

Just go through the previously asked questions of amcat.

The aptitude test consists of 3 sections:

1. Verbal section : sentence completion, sentence correction and also 2 passages. Also synonyms and antonyms.

2. Analytical section : contains ratio proportion, time and work, speed time dist, percentage, profit and loss, areas.

3. Logical reasoning : this section is the easiest of all no need of any preparation for this.

The second round was technical round. On September 3, 2014.

They called us at 8. 30 in the morning for the interviews. But I had to wait till 5 pm.

When I was called for the interview.

Interviewer : Hello ashish how are you ? Can you introduce yourself ?
Me : Did, make sure you answer this question properly in a well structured manner.

Need to Introduce with your full name.

Say how people call you.

Then say that my Highest Education is B-Tech or what ever.

Then comes Hobbies, Family Background,

And Special attractions why they should choose you.

This is the single most important strategy in job hunting,

Start with present things eg: tell them something about you which you feel your are good at that. I'm quick learner, I grasp point quickly, your resent achievement, why you took your course.

Interviewer : you're from e n tc so tell me what all subjects you have ? and also tell your fav sub.
Me : I told all of them. Choose digital logic as my fav sub.

Interviewer : So tell me yh do you like this subject ?
Me : I gave a simple but impressive answer.

Interviewer : Do you know image processing ? so tell me how will you compress a image ?
Me : I explained the jpeg compression.

Interviewer : How do you crop a compressed image ?
Me : I didn't gave any answer for that as I dint knew it.

Interviewer : Convert FFh, 34h and 3h to binary.
Me : It was really easy question I guess every ece student can answer.

Interviewer : Can you convert it into octal format ?
Me : I said I can try converting it. Nd I did it for ffh.

Interviewer : Tell me about your all 3 projects ?
Me : Told.

Interviewer : Write a pseudocode for sorting algorithms and also explain the number of iteration required for each, along with complexity.
Me : I wrote the code and gave a proper explanation of its iteration.

Some hr questions where also asked.

If you like digital then why IT sector ?

So tell me how is pune different from your hometown ?

Finally the aspiring mind coordinator told me that I cleared the technical round.

My hr interview took place at 8.30 pm. I was the last one to be interviewed.

After tech round the HR round was just to check your communication skills. Nothing else.

Once you clear the technical round. Your almost placed. Just be confident and also be ready for relocation.

On 18th sept 2014, the result was announced and I was selected in CTS, IBM gbs, Wipro, and Accenture.

But I choose CTS.
