Cognizant Technology Solutions Interview Experience - Indore, January 24, 2014
The first thing that I would like to tell you is about the written test. The written test is seriously simple consisting of 3 sections Logical, Analytical and Verbal.
Just go for these 3 parts by studying these a bit from the RS Agrawal and the portions available on different sites including: (in analytical and logical portion).
1) Quantitative question.
2) Data sufficiency.
3) Binary conversion.
4) Cubes (try to understand the technique).
5) Venn diagram.
6) Find the incorrect sentences.
7) complete the correct sentences.
8) Arrange the jumbled sentences.
10) Logical deduction.
11) Find the odd figure out.
12) Seating arrangement.
For the VERBAL section :
2 Comprehensions are given; these are usually easy but time consuming still just try to understand the given comprehensions in one go and then try to answer the questions.
After the Written Test comes the main battle: INTERVIEW ROUNDS.
The first interview round is Technical Round.
Since I am from ECE Branch; I must say I was fortunate enough to be asked question from my branch only but there is no guarantee as many of my friends from the same branch were asked questions on Programming Languages. According to me please frame your Resume properly; questions are mostly dependent on that.
Some Questions asked were:
1) Tell me something about yourself.
Explain yourself properly as possible; they might also ask you certain examples on the things you mention in your Resume like your strengths).
2) Why Cognizant?
Go through Company's Profile well and your own qualities well enough to explain them that why you chose that company.
3) He asked me about my project and also my role in the project.
This is the best part. Please prepare in advance. I was also asked to draw the related diagrams.
4) Again there were some questions (basic ones from my branch).
5) lastly they will ask you a certain question to ask. I didn't prepare this but still managed.
Also remember that if you from ECE then also they might ask you why are you trying for an IT company. You need to find a solid explanation for this one as some of my friends got rejected because they were not able convince the interviewer.
After getting selected in this Round ; there automatically comes a certain amount of confidence that if you are able to come through the previous tough rounds and considering HR as the final step towards your dreams. Just be calm and composed for the HR round. You just need to explain yourself as how you are as a person.
You don't need to be fancy or fake.
Some questions asked to me:
1) Again Introduction.
2) Why Cognizant.
3) About the Company.
4) Family Background. (If you have any your brothers and sisters in IT already please try to get information about their work and profile; they will certainly ask you this one).
5) Why should I hire you.
6) Any questions?
Also the hobbies that you write in your Resume must be real enough to convince; for example if you write Reading novel then also remember some of the names of those and their authors and their stories as they might ask.
Overall what I must say is that the experience was awesome. You just need to be Confident; which will automatically come if you prepare in the right direction.
At the end the one line that always inspired me while reading such interview experience was "Finally my Job Hunting is over".
Now best of luck for Yours.
