Cognizant (CTS) Interview Experience - Lovely professional university, 20 jan 2014

I would like to share my recent interview experience with you, hope this will help you.
I had 78% in aggregate from maharaja surajmal institute of tech, a reputed college in delhi. Though I was good in studies and had excellent basics of C, C++, Data structures, OS, S/W engg, I was not comfortable in writing codes on my own.
The first company, infosys came to college for placement, but alas. My bad luck. I was not able to clear the written test (pretty easy). And then started a series of frustration companies like vinsol, csc, impetus, nec, libsys, newgen etc came and went :p.
Even after clearing the written test (in 10 companies after infy) , due to bad luck somehow I was not able to clear the multiple rounds in interview.
But only thing I had in myself was dedication and ability to take efforts.
Then 1 day, I heard that cognizant was visiting LPU for pool campus for amcat candidates (yes I got good % in amcat because I am good at quant). That very day I decided that I shall be visiting Lovely professional univ (LPU) for the company. Though I had AIG scheduled on the very next day, I went to LPU with my friend (who also made a record with me of clearing written test of 10 companies :p).
On 20th jan 2014 we reached the campus of LPU, and saw a large crowd. But I was determined and dint loose hope. They did some profiling work and some sorting, after which I was called for tech interview. The interview asked me theory of os, ds, projects and s/w engg (something I had been waiting for months) and then started a blast of answers from my side which impressed the interviewer. Besides this he made me write the codes of some simple programs. It was amazing interview and I was confident that I\'ll be selected.
And yes, I was selected. Then I got a green slip which I had to put on my shirt.
Then after that I reached the hr room, where a mid aged woman asked me questions about delhi (I belong to delhi) , my strength, weakness and willingness to relocate. I said yes and yes. After that hr said thanks to me and told me to check the mails regularly, which made me confident that it was a great interview. My planets were favoring me and I could feel them. I said thanks to mam, and came out.
The result came 5 days later, and both of us were selected. Thank God, I have a job now, and that too in a brand like cts.
I shall be joining in august this year.
Tip:: keep working keep trying!
One day your luck and hard work will bring the job to you.
And don\'t get frustrated, it was my 12th company (clearing written test only increased my confidence).
