Cognizant Technology Solution - Bhubaneswar, 16th December and 23rd December 2013
I have attended off- campus recruitment drive of cognizant technology solution (CTS) in bhubaneswar for pass-out students only of 2013 and 2012 batch. They are taking help of aspiring mind groups for recruitment.
Initially you need to give online test of AMCAT. Before giving test make sure that you hall ticket should be verified by authority. They don't sign on hall ticket after you test and there sign on hall ticket is very important. While filling information about you they will ask to write an essay on "how to survive in the current market situation and what skills are required to stay on top?".
In test there are 25 questions of verbal ability which you need to solve in 25 minutes. It generally contain question related to grammar correction, para jumble, one passage reading, vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms etc.
16 questions related to quantitative ability which you need to solve in 16 minutes. Percentage, average, time and distance, probability, SI, CI etc. Are the main topic.
14 questions of LR ability in 14 minutes. Arrangement, blood relation, direction etc. Are main topics.
Important thing is to note that there is no negative marking and you have 1 minute for each question. My suggestion is that if you sure about question then attempt it or simply guess and pass to next question. I didn't find any back button during the exam so it better to attempt all question don't leave it for future. In each section it is compulsory that you should attempt at least 10 questions.
My test was on 16th December, on 18th December I got confirmation mail that I cleared written part. In mail I also received my hall ticket for interview round which is on 23rd December.
The document you should carry for interview round are:
1. Previous hall ticket with authorize signature.
2. Two passport size photograph.
3. All marksheet of 10th, 12th and each semester (original & xerox).
4. Provisional certificates.
5. ID proof (original and xerox) it is necessary to come with your PAN card.
In written round we are about 1800 students. On interview day only 150 students are able to make. We are called according to our name alphabets in group of 15 students.
In technical interview, since I am from ECE they ask question related to ECE only.
1. Tell me about yourself.
2. What your parent do and where you siblings?
3. At what frequency mobile work?
4. What is difference between cell and mobile phone?
5. What is difference between smartphone and normal mobile?
6. What is electromagnetic wave?
7. What is AM and FM?
8. Explain it thinking that I am a village person who never went for study.
9. What is scalar and vector?
10. Tell something about you project.
11. What your role in that project?
12. What are your hobbies?
13. Write any code for any program in any language.
14. Various questions related to program.
15. By what name friends and in home you are called?
16. Why I should hire you?
17. Why you are not placed till now?
18. Any question you like to ask about CTS?
You need to stay focused, never say I don't know the answer. Like I don't know the frequency at which mobile work but I have given some random frequency and they have accepted that. Be sure what you are going to say. Even if you make some mistake they will rectify it. Ask question related to CTS do not skip when they ask.
If you are from CS or IT, then get prepared well with Java, C, Sql, C++ etc. They are going to ask each and every language you have mentioned in you resume. They ask questions from your resume only not outside it. They are very interested in OOPS.
I have there marking system, they mark on technical skill, communication skill and overall. I got 8 out of 10 in each sections.
If you have cleared technical then it is very less chance that you will be rejected in HR. During technical round out of 15 students group 3 students are getting rejected. Before HR they will collect all Xerox documents.
In HR interview:
1. Introduce yourself.
2. Question related to job location.
3. About project.
4. What you know about CTS?
5. Current news about CTS?
6. Current news related to IT market.
7. Current news related to economy.
6. Current news related to India.
7. Current news related to place and state where you are giving interview.
8. How I agree that you will join CTS?
After they ask you to leave. After one week on 30th December I got mail giving confirmation that I got selected. Finally job hunt is over.
