Hello All,

I attended off campus drive of CTS (Cognizant) held at Pune. We were selected on basis of our Amcat percentile and then shortlisted candidates were called for technical and hr interview at Pune.

First of all, as far as my experience is concerned I would advice you all to give Amcat and elitmus test for sure. These consultancy provide you with ample amount of opportunities for 2 year atleast (based on your percentile).

Our recruitment process started sharp at 9am. There were around 200-250 candidates and I was surprised because for 250 candidates CTS has arranged 30 interview panels. And that is why working was quick.

I was the first among boys to be called for technical interview.

Open the door, ask to come inside.

Shook hands with both the interviewers.

Q1. Tell us something about yourself?
Ans: Answered (keep it simple and short,  they just want to see your ability to express yourself in quick time)

Q2. You have mentioned WSR as your final year project, tell us something about your project?
Ans: Answered. (this is the main point they were looking for, explain your project properly with each diagram and formula..don't forget to carry a pen with you)

......Some technical questions related to my project and summer training.....

Q3. what are the shortcomings of your project?
Ans: Answered.

Q4. Do you know about SDLC ?
Ans: Yes

Q5. Have you followed SDLC in your final year project?
Ans: Yes sir But except Maintenance and Testing phase because of time limitation. we only had 3 months for our final year project.

Q6. Write the query to fetch any 10 rows from a table in SQL?
Ans: Written but I have putted comparison operator in SELECT clause. He got me there and tried to confused me by saying that it should be in WHERE clause. But I haven't changed my answer (though later I came to know that I was wrong)

Q7. What is automata?
Ans: Answered.

Q8. What is turing machine?
Ans: Answered.

Q9. Write program in c for fibonacci series?
Ans: In nervousness I wrote wrong program (using recursion) but they asked me to relax and then given 30 sec to write same program with another method. I did that this time.

This is all about my technical interview. They were very impresses from my final year project so please prepare your project very well.

Result was declared within half an hour and I have cleared my technical round.

HR Round:

Q1. Introduce your self atul?
Ans: Answered (Remember do not include any technical detail here as its your HR round)

Q2. Why you have chosen?
Ans: I did a blunder while answering this. I said. "I have chosen IT for 2 reasons. 1. there is no limit for learning   2. There is no limit for money (this was the mistake)

Now in whole hr questions they have tried their best to manipulate me so that I put money above learning...But I firmly hold my point till end.

Q3. Any questions Atul.?
Ans: I have questioned 3 things from them....always prepare at least 1 question with you for them. it gives good impression.

HR over.

Finally after 2 days (on Choti Diwali :-) ) I got mail from cognizant that I am selected........Felt sky high... :-)

Remember guys...just be confident and you can over shadow your shortcoming. They don't want shakespears but at-least try to speak decent english.

See you at Cognizant.. All the Best :-)
