CTS Interview Experience - HYDERABAD, NOVEMBER 10TH 2013
I have reached the interview location by 8.30 AM. They verified the documents by 9. I was called for technical interview at 9.30 AM, entered into another room over there, where there were around 15 panelists interviewing individually.
Around 300 - 350 persons came for interview.
So we were asked to sit there for some time and I was waiting for my turn.
But after a long wait of 1 hr, I was called whereas others were called within 10-15 mins. I got tensed between this period and many thing have been running on my mind in this period.
Finally at 10.45 AM, I was called for interview.
It was a small cabin, beside me also there are cabins (actually that is an workplace for CTS employees).
ME : Hello sir, good Morning.
Interviewer : Hello, good morning to you too and please have a seat.
(he is checking my resume and turning some other pages in a booklet placed in front of him).
ME : I settled myself and gave a good smile to him.
Interviewer : Please introduce about Yourself.
ME : Told about myself, my education background, percentage, about family background, hobbies, strengths. I was telling more and he interrupted me.
Interviewer: So you are from ECE ?
Me : Yes.
Interviewer : What is a latch ?
Me : I forgot it literally, I was scolding myself inside me.
Interviewer : Don't know ?
Me : I Dont know sir, I don't remember actually.
Interviewer : Not a problem at all, fine.
Me : Hmm (mixed feeling).
Interviewer : What is a buffer?
Me : Told.
Interviewer : write the truth table for AND and Ex-Or gates.
Me : Wrote it correctly.
Interviewer : Tell me about your main project.
Me: I started explaining it for around 2-3 minutes.
Interviewer : SO, what do you know about Computers.
Me : I told I know about C and basics of JAVA (since we have only C language in our four years of btech and JAVA I took coaching recently).
Interviewer: So tell me about malloc and calloc.
Me : Told.
Interviewer : What is the return type of Malloc.
Me : Told.
Interviewer : So you know basics of java right ?
Me : Yes sir.
Interviewer : So what is a CLASS?
Me : Told, collection of variables and methods.
Interviewer: What is an variable ?>.
Me : Told.
Interviewer : What is object ?
Me : An instance of an class.
Interviewer : Can you explaing it with an example?
Me : Yes, I told an example and he was convinced.
Int : Write a basic program for the example you just told.
Me : I wrote it well, but I was slightly wrong.
Int : So he asked me about what are public, static, void, main in " Public static void main args ().
Me: Told correctly about few and was not able to explain about statc.
(He was very hungry, in between he was eating sandwich and Apple, the girl which he interviewed before me was done for around 1hr).
Int : He again asked me few question from C language.
Afer that he once again asked to explain other projects which I mentioned in my resume.
Totally the interview was about around 20-22 mins.
INT : So I guess, am done with the interview. You can leave.
Me : Thank you, sir.
The mistakes I have done are when I don't know the answer I missed the eye contact and he can see the confusion in my eyes.
SO guys always try to maintain eye contact whether you are correct or not and and smile always. IF you carry these two, you clear 50% of the interview.
Finally, after my interview I was asked to wait for some time and after 10 mins a guy came and told that " We will get back to you in 1 week ".
I didn't understand whether I was rejected or will be considered later. Many people were told like that and some were asked to leave immediately.
Finally, I thought there were no HR interviews but they do happened lately. And the persons who are through HR interviews were told that they will know the result within 1 week.
