Hai everyone, I am Ankita Sharma...I had to go through one day process at Cognizant, it was a wonderful day which ended with a happy news that I got placed.

We were asked to reach at 8am for that I had to get up 5.30 to get prepared and as the location was very far I had to travel for 1hour.

We had to go through 5 rounds
2)Verbal and Analytical reasoning
3)Technical Interview
4)Voice Processing round (for ITIS profile)
5)Hr Interview

I had a great time throughout, I was not tensed as I read the experiences of other people here at Indiabix "they look for confidence" its very true :)

In GD round we were to discuss on "marriage" the person who judging us was very casual and cool. We as a group enjoyed the discussion and had some situations where everyone was laughing. Out of 20, 6 made it through that round.

Next we gave aptitude, what I can say is even if you don't have preparation  you can still clear it. Just make use of common sense, read questions carefully and don't take tension. Keep basic math fundamentals clear If you don't know any question, just leave that and go ahead with other questions and do that left out question at last. No negative marking so you don't have to worry.

Verbal section included 2 passages which were above average level, so little tough.
There were questions to find the CORRECT and INCORRECT sentences out of 4 options. That part is easy if your grammar fundamentals are good.

Then, Technical. It was the funniest interview round I ever had.
My name was called out and the interviewer asked me to follow him.
I was not much prepared for that round, but still I remembered "I need to keep up my confidence"
He asked me some questions of which I replied with confidence, but he was not satisfied, after that came the diagrammatic twist...
He asked me to write two SQL queries, I tried the 1st query and got stuck, he was looking at me and smiling, I smiled back.
Then the second one I did not try, I told him that I cannot recollect at the moment. "Then what shall we do Ankita?" I said give me 5 mins I will get the answer from somewhere.

He asked me "How are you going to give me answer in 5mins? Google...everyone knows how to use, you can directly get the answer from there, ok call a friend of yours I am going out" There was no network in the premises.DANG! I have a friend who is onsite and is wonderful on DBMS, I din't want to take any chance so I tried calling him. No network still I tried and texted him to call back urgently. The interviewer came back smiling. I told him I cannot call, network problem is there. He told "Ok give me the number I will call your friend" I said" Its and international number, It will cost you lot" we were laughing. I said "I feel like I am playing Kaun banega crorepati and calling a friend.

He laughed loudly. Then he said you atleast tried the first query but second one you didn't try. He asked me network layers, Cobol(I dint have that subject, I just knew the name so I told him) I tried to convince him that I have learning attitude and I showed confidence. That is what they look for even if you suck at the questions they ask. Make them believe you will be a good resource. Also show flexibility if they ask you for relocation and shifts. He here and there he asked me some more questions and I replied nicely. He finally asked if I have any questions, I asked his views on my interview telling him that I know I didn't do well I knew that. And the Two in a box approach. He said they look for flexibility ad learning attitude of freshers and told me to wait outside. I had already convinced him about that. I made it through.

Voice processing round was lovely. The women who took the round was very sweet.
She asked me to describe myself. I the part of hobbies, I told her I like nail arting, she looked at my nails and said " oh yes I can see that, how did you do it." Women talk started :P I started explaining "Very creative Ankita, ok tell me 2 things which you want to change about yourself" I said I want to get more weight as I am very thin. She smiled and nodded and said "take some from me" I said "yes please"both laughed. we had a very friendly and lovely time. She was really nice.
All that she told me was that while speaking I have mother tongue accent that I need to change as we have to communicate to people across the globe. I asked how shall I improve and she gave me suggestions. Cleared

HR round was just a formality, Another lady took that round. She asked me about the overall process of the day "two things i like and dislike about it." i was so excited to make through HR that I wanted it to finish up soon " I said I liked everything, as i knew its a one day process so it will take time, overall i liked everything" She asked me about marksheets etc. Told me about package and the call letter.

31st March 2012....the most memorable day of my life :)
