These were the questions asked to me in the interview for the post of TRAINEE SCIENTIFIC OFFICER.
The interview panel consist of 4-6 members.
At first, they ask you which subjects you have prepared. You have to list 4-5 subjects. I listed out Machines, power systems, control systems, and networks.
Then they begin with one subject.
The first subject was machines they asked me my priority I said DC machines.
In the beginning, they start with basic concepts like how a DC motor works, what are the types of DC machines,
Then if you answer them well they go on digging deep into speed control, starting methods.
Once you answer this they ask you to draw various characteristics ex speed -load, Torque-speed characteristics and ask for an explanation for it. They go on digging deep until you are unable to answer.
Similarly, the questions in the Control system began with What is stability, and bode plot, they might give you a T.F and ask you to draw the bode plot for the same, also they may ask you to add poles/zeros to the TF and show what will be the effects.
The interview panel is very humble and down to earth they help you if you are unable to solve a problem and also give you hints. Overall it is a wonderful experience.
The longer your interview lasts the better your chances of selection.
My interview lasted for 50 mins. Unfortunately, I wasn't up to the mark.
But if your interview lasts for 1.5 hr - 2 hr you have better chances of selection.
