ATOS ORIGIN PATTERN & INTERVIEW - 18 AUG 2008 - MUMBAI
I am Aniket Harne from VJTI college, Mumbai.
Atos Origin came to our college on 18-08-2008.
To start with, we had a PPT from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Then after 10 minutes that is at 11:10 a.m. aptitude test started.......
THE APTITUDE TEST===>
There were in all 3 sections - Quant, English and Logical reasoning.
Total questions were 100 and the duration was 75 minutes.
Also there was sectional cut-off and negative marking of -0.5 for every wrong answer, so be careful. Mark the answer only if u are sure about it.
1) Quant Section - There were 25 questions in this section. Questions were very easy - Most of the problems were from R.S.Aggarwal Quantitative book.
They were mainly from---> average, partnership, local value-face value of a number (1st chapter from R.S.Aggarwal), probability, sets etc. There were no questions from time & work, trains, distance-speed, profit-loss, boats-streams in my paper but still I advice u all to please have look at these chapters also because these chapters are very important from aptitude test point of view (of any company).
I solved in all 22 questions in quant.
2) Logical Reasoning - It was a big section of 45 questions. Most of the problems were from R.S.Aggarwal Verbal and Non-verbal. But questions were too lengthy to read and because of that I managed to solve only about 18 to 20 questions. I had not expected this but this is what had happened to me. So I advice u all, if u have R.S.Aggarwal Verbal and Non-verbal book please try to solve questions like seating arrangement, puzzles and others which u feel important......
3) English Section - Total 30 questions. Easy questions were asked like analogies, sentence completion(important), antonyms, synonyms and one big passage and questions based on that.
I solved about 15 to 17 questions in this section.
About aptitude I want to say that first try to solve half-half questions of each section as there is a sectional cut-off then if the time permits, try to solve some more quant and logical reasoning questions. Time management is very important here, so please don't waste ur time in solving a particular section.
After aptitude, we were given 2 topics and they told us to write an essay on any one of the topic in 15 minutes.
They told us that the essay was only for checking thinking capability of the candidate and it would be considered only during HR interview.
Topics for us were
1.) Role of IT industry : a boon for freshers
2.) Bomb Blasts and their impact on social life.
I selected second one and wrote an essay of around 100 to 120 words.
After this, they told us to come at 2:30 p.m. for the results.
We came at 2:30 p.m. and results were declared at 3:00 p.m. They had short-listed 43 candidates out of 90 and I was one of them. The 43 candidates were divided into 3 sub-groups that is 15,14,14. I was in first group (panel).
All of us had only one interview i.e. Tech + HR together.
My interview started at 5.00 p.m..............
(Interviewer : HR)
HR: Hello Aniket
Me: Hello mam
HR: Please have a sit.
Me: Thank u mam
HR: Show me ur file
(I gave her my file)
HR: hmm, tell me about yourself
HR: okay now tell me about ur mini projects (2 projects mentioned in my resume)

Me: I have no problem mam. I am completely fine with relocation.
HR: What about further studies? are u going to persue them?
Me: Mam, currently I have not decided to do so but if the company demands then i will definitely do it.

HR: any more questions?
Me: No mam.

(eye-contact is also important in the interview)
My interview lasted 30 minutes.
After last interview (of 43rd candidate), they declared the result at 9:20 p.m. They had short-listed 15 candidates and I was one them !!!!!!!!!
It was totally unbelievable for me.......
