Non Verbal Reasoning - Series - Discussion
Discussion Forum : Series - Section 1 (Q.No. 1)
Directions to Solve
Each of the following questions consists of five figures marked A, B, C, D and E called the Problem Figures followed by five other figures marked 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 called the Answer Figures. Select a figure from amongst the Answer Figures which will continue the same series as established by the five Problem Figures.

Select a figure from amongst the Answer Figures which will continue the same series as established by the five Problem Figures.
Problem Figures: Answer Figures:

(A) (B) (C) (D) (E) (1) (2) (3) (4) (5)
Answer: Option
Explanation:
In each step, element at the upper-right position gets enlarged, inverts vertically and reaches the lower-left corner; the existing element at the lower-left position, is lost and a new small element appears at the upper-right position.

The given answer is totally correct.
Invert it horizontally then add a new element on the upper-right corner.
Invert it horizontally then add a new element on the upper-right corner.

Not D, because the upper element is not new in d.
S symbol already came.

@All.
Simply;
Write the upper-right figures on a blank sheet.
Hold the sheet from the top and bottom side
Then flip the sheet vertically either from top to bottom or bottom to top side.
See the image of the figure on the back side of the sheet.
And get C as the answer.

To find the next figure in the sequence of the Problem Figures (A to E), let's analyze the pattern:
Orientation and Progression:
Each figure seems to involve angular or directional transformation. The figures are transforming in a consistent angular pattern:
(A) is a single upward arrow.
(B) is a curved shape rotating to the right.
(C) is an angular shape facing right.
(D) is upward again, but more complex.
(E) is a zigzag with more corners.
This suggests a gradual increase in angular complexity and possibly alternating directions.
Trend:
The shapes are becoming more complex step-by-step.
There's a consistent use of sharp angles and directional changes.
Matching with Answer Figures:
Let's compare the possible answer choices:
(1): A zig-zag starting left and pointing down.
(2): A symmetric zig-zag with increasing turns.
(3): A zig-zag starting down, then left.
(4): A zig-zag with similar complexity as (E), but reflected.
(5): A zig-zag similar to (E) but simplified.
Among these, option (3) continues the angular pattern, matching the directional and structural complexity increase seen in figures A to E.
The Correct Answer: (3)
It follows the angular progression logically and matches the complexity and structure trend.

Answer is E. Because after enlarging the image we have to invert the shape vertically which gives the answer E.

I think, the answer is 1 because it is a rotation.
