Why don't we just see one head of the arrow, to get the answer (a) we will have to ignore one of the arrow and fig. (a) has a joint at its bottom, we will have to remove that and here we have the answer.

Here's why: A broken circle is also a part of a closed circle i.e. any broken circle can be embedded in a closed circle. The question was to find the image embedded. The direction of the arrow also matches with option A. i.e two arrows opposite meeting at the same point with a little gap.
Just like a line is a part of a square and it can be embedded in a square, the same goes for this; a broken circle is also a part of a full circle, hence it can be embedded in it as long as the option completely maintains the shape of the original circle.
