We are using both IP version 6. and IP version 4 . IP version 6 is Simple Internet Protocol and IP version 4 is Internet Protocol base on TCP/IP which means transmission control protocol over internet, Thanks @Prabhu.

IPv4 - 32 bit-- represent in Octet form.
Example -- 69.89.31.226 -> 01000101.01011001.00011111.11100010->
4 octets -> 4x8 ->32 bit.

IPv6 - 128 bit(hexa decimal format).
Example -- 2002:4559:1FE2:0000:0000:0000:4559:1FE2 -> 8 x 16 -> 128 bit.

Hope this helps.
