IPv6 is a 128 bits because its divided into 8 block and each block consists 16 bit because it is in hexadecimal so its 128 bits long.
For an example:
Suppose we have an ipv6 ABCD:12CD:00AC:BC23:0000:0000:1234:0000.
So ABCD is in hexadecimal. We will be convert in binary form.
After converting it will be 1010101111001101.
