What protocols are used to configure trunking on a switch?
  1. VLAN Trunking Protocol
  2. VLAN
  3. 802.1Q
  4. ISL
1 and 2
3 and 4
1 only
2 only
Answer: Option
Explanation:
VTP is not right because it has nothing to do with trunking except that it sends VLAN information across a trunk link. 802.1Q and ISL are used to configure trunking on a port.

Trunking allow you to make a single port part of multiple VLANs at the same time.

Why we need to configure the trunking on the switch?

802.1 q is used to make a trunk line usually configured between the line (e) at the router and any port of the switch in inter-VLAN communication.

By making trunk line, data (frames) of different VLAN can transported by tagging on frame of different VLANs.

I support to the net working and hard networking your support is hardware networking thanks frames and the accompanying procedures to be used by bridges and switches in handling such frames. The standard also contains provisions for a quality of service.

IEEE 802.1Q is the networking standard that supports virtual LANs (VLANs) on an Ethernet network. The standard defines a system of VLAN tagging for Ethernet frames and the accompanying procedures to be used by bridges and switches in handling such frames. The standard also contains provisions for a quality of service.
