It may be expressed with the quantities:

Energy/mole of fuel (kJ/mol).
Energy/mass of fuel.
Energy/volume of the fuel.
So option D is correct.

Option D is correct as we measure gases in cubic meter volume and not in kilograms.

The amount of heat generated per kg of fuel is called calorific value and hence its unit is KJ/KG. So option B is correct.
